Unable to bear the feelings that consumed her any more, she twisted in his arms and buried herself in his chest. Her arms snaking around his waist to hold herself to him tightly. Refusing to look up as shyness engulfed her at what had very nearly happened. She could feel his heart beating erratically. A rhythm that was in tandem with her own.
Anujâs hands stroked her back tenderly in soothing circles. His head coming to rest gently on hers. They stood locked together as their breathing slowly steadied. The sounds of the world around them slowly seeping into the haze surrounding them.
She lifted her head slowly to look into his waiting eyes. Eyes that were drenched in love and adoration. Mirroring the emotions she knew were shining in hers. Before she could say anything he pressed a gentle finger against her lips and shook his head.
Smiling softly at each other in unspoken understanding, she clasped his proffered hand and turned to face the future that awaited them.
