Also If she first acted in Hollywood and then started working in Indian films even then it would have made sense to call American actress working in Indian films .

Similarly had Alia and Katrina worked in British films then it would have made sense to say British Actresses working in Indian films.

I get you and also agree, but the point I was making was the word on wiki is intending to give their nationality not their line of work just like with Nora,Kat, Alia even Akshay 'Canadian actor' these are the names from the top of my head.

I see where you're coming from but I feel you are looking at it in a different context , so I will agree to disagree.

It sounds funny. But technically it is true. She IS a British actress. It is not uncommon to say "[Insert nationality][Insert profession]" referring to celebrities. Part of the problem is our notion that British = white. Or British = not residing and working in India.
