Surprisingly neither had PD promoted this song, nor had Raghav Sachar tagged him in ANY of the IG posts about this song. Wonder what happened.

We had seen videos on Raghav Sachar's IG post of PD singing this song. I wonder if he replaced with his own or Javed Ali's voice in the final version and perhaps that led to some heartache.

Was it this song? Coz recently Raghav posted about Javed Ali dubbing for the song..vocals r credited to him

Yes. See the lonk below. Raghav Sachar had posted it as joint post with Pawandeep and this is from Pawandeep's IG.

In ALL posts in the last few days leading up to the release Pawandeep hasn't been tagged, nor mentioned in the post announcing the release. Only credited on YT.

Hmm..Pawandeep fans r asking for his version of the song..haven't seen the song on YouTube m sure they r doing the needful.

On one hand we have established musicians like Salim Merchant who keep their word and on other side such incidents. But maybe all this is common in the industry

I believe Pawan had sung a song for Antim which was not released. Even Sayli had confirmed that ‘Salman ke next film mein Pawan ka song aanewala hai’. Antim released but no song in his voice.
This happened to Arijit too. He had a huge fallout with Salman over some silly comments he made about Salman. His song (i think it was bodyguard) was replaced by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. I think both had sung the song and they chose one.

I believe it’s routine that this happens. Even the song Aru got - Babul was initially sung by some other girl but release version has Aru’s voice.

I believe it does happen a lot. Even in films. I have heard Alka Yagnik complain even back in the 1990s that her song would get replaced by Anuradha Paudwal.

Until a song is released it doesn't mean anything to have recorded it. I have heard in interviews that they often get newcomers to record a song only for it serve as a base for the experienced star to listen and learn the song, and then he / she does the final take.

I really don't think PD's version will come. They don't need to. Notice that he is totally excluded from their publicity.
