I'm a firm believer of privacy whether celeb Or a non-celeb, what I don't agree with is selective privacy that some celebs employ to suit their needs that they proactively use to market their image/brand. They have no issues with shoving their kids activities into our faces. Elevate their relationships to promote movies, sell their image through paid promotions on social media but ask for something that the fans feel they are owed, all hell breaks loose with bhaashan about privacy. Aisa selective hona hai toh, maan lo ki hypocrite hain ye celebs.

If you desire privacy, be an Adi Chopra.

What about Srk who was filming Om Shanti Om at the time. Decided to shoot the big Deewangi song during the same week 😆

The only thing I’ve liked about all the recent weddings is the acknowledgement of fans and for weddings held in India, a nice wave to the media.

However I remember with Ash and Abhi, until this day we have not really seen what their wedding looks like. There’s been some leaked pics but nothing proper. I know they said they wanted privacy but I find it disrespectful to not connect with your fans. And they didn’t even care to pose for the media.

seems they sold mrg video to some channel n may be deal r something …

Oh please. The whole "private" wedding was a gimmick in itself. Aishwarya-Abhishek could easily have had a private wedding if they wanted, instead they went for a full circus.

Need to agree, they handled media and fans very badly at that time.

Their wedding was disrespectful to fans, the film industry and the media. I remember they didn’t invite most of the people in the film industry and the film industry was angry with Big B.

Big B and family were behaving as if they are actual royalty. I don’t get it when the Bachchan family are called the first family of Bollywood. I always thought the Kapoor family is the first family of Bollywood.

They have said that Abhisheks grandmother was not keeping well (or in hospital) and therefore they wanted everything low key.

Did their engagement help with Guru numbers? Probably did. But their engagement was announced a couple of days after the release of the movie so no it didn’t help give it a big opening. And they went on Oprah a year or so after their wedding.

Amitabh Bachchan Said repeatedly that his mother was at a hospital (end stages of dementia) and they didn’t want a big hoopla. Although it turned out to be a big hoopla, just with smaller number of people. The guest list became a big controversy. I think media made a bigger issue out of it than even the non-invited guests did. Except for Shatrugan Sinah. He apparently returned the apology letter and box of sweets Bachchans had sent to people they weren’t inviting.

The wedding was 15 years ago. Social media wasn’t around, or wasn’t this big aspect of actors lives. It is possible if they were getting married today they might have done things differently. Media was furious for not getting anything and the Bachchans were furious for the chaos paparazzi caused outside their residence where the wedding was taking place. The next day videos came out of security hitting paparazzi with batons. Big B did apologize for that.

So in conclusion to my long essay 😆, no they weren’t disrespectful. They wanted privacy for their big celebrity wedding in the middle of Mumbai which seems like an oxymoron but they kind of pulled it off.
