I agree with you that abhimanyu is too possessive and overprotective for akshara..but i think its his immaturity...abhimanyu has fallen in love for the first time so he doesn't know how to handle it maturely..this feeling of love is very new to him..abhimanyu has had only one person close to him and that's his mother..he doesn't know what a romantic love means and akshara made him feel it for the first time so he's overwhelmed ..plus akshara's rejections in the past has also traumatized abhimanyu so he's scared of losing her and that is why he's treating her with so much love and care...

He not just treats her as a kanch ki gudiya but also gets jealous and insecure when he sees any male with her even if that male is a chota bachha. 🥴 I know writers may have added those scenes of Abhi feeling jealous of that little kid as comedy but actually those looked cringe to me.

Anupama koh he dekh lo. When she was the innocent and unde confident women tab trp kitni thi aur ab kitni hain...

Naitik ki Akshara was also timid and extremely nervous in the beginning and that worked.

Most shows work where the female is quiet and tolerant and then they shoot up once paani sar ke upar chala jata hain and female lead finally opens her mouth. Then they dip drastically when the female lead has become the independent and strong woman she should be.

I think the audience needs to be willing to watch something new.

Since beginning he has been obsessed with Akshara even to the extent that he did not even think to ask her in the tilak whether she liked him too. Straightaway went and simply expected her to say yes to the proposal he made. He thought she was his even before she expressed her love.

These are issues that the makers have glossed over instead of exploring why Abhi is this possessive. It could be because he is needy since a child because he never received that love of both parents so he fills this void with Akshara. And he doesn't want his wife to experience what Manjri went through which is why he goes above and beyond for Akshara.

He is possessive because he doesnt want anyone to take Akshara away from him the way Harsh takes Manjri from him (manjri always chooses Harsh).

And this extreme affection will also prove to be problematic and that glass doll will break by his own hands. ITV hain phir yeh toh hona he hain.

It's like he wants to wrap her up in cotton bud. So worried she will break down or something.😆

In real life a couple like this will have major issues somewhere down the line. Coddling is nice but there comes a time when you want to live your life a bit, take some risk, be adventurous, dance the night away.😃

Beside all this, Abhi has put too much a burden on Akshu with his 'I only love Akshu so I only trust her and believe in her and no one else'. Umm nice thanks to your family; mum, dad and the years they fed you, clothed you, educated you...so this is the finger he is showing to them now and of course inviting them to get angry with her. Can you blame them for being angry and bitter? No one would like this in real life so why not a fictional family.

I want Akshu to became an independent woman. She needs to have a conversation with him that goes like 'I'm not made out of glass' and end with 'I love you but stop coddling me'.😆

There had been earlier post about his OTT behaviour.

Some of his action is very nice, we all want a lover like that. But then when you get things like 'don't dance because you will get tired/breakdown/whatever'...I mean who speaks like that? I would be extremely wary if a guy did that to me. It's like he has this image of the perfect female which has no relation the person standing in front of him..

I do understand what's driving him but like you said seeing Akshu as 'poor me, need a man to tell me this'. sometimes is annoying. She lives in 2022 not the 1500. A little bit of spine will make her more relatable to many of us. The thing is she was like this earlier but now she has become more submissive...😕

Bold 2-he is like this because of his traumatic childhood..his father never cared or loved her mother and this reality has made a deep impact on his heart and brain..so he wants to pamper and love ak like anything..wants to be an ideal husband
For her bt while doing all this he is putting immense pressure on ak..
