Oh thank God I can discuss the great disappointment that bridgerton S2 turned out to be👎🏼🤣.
I also thought ki yeh log Indian ITV se inspired ho gaye & gave that nonsense 2 sis in love with 1 guy trope🤣🤣🤣.
I do not expect much depth from the romance show based on regency novel series but focus on romance toh expected tha but woh bhi nahi mila🥺😆. Kat- Anthony barely got less than an hour ka ss together in a nearly 8 hrs ka series🤪. Hardly any meaningful happened between them to show their level of wanting developed between them suddenly. They were being kept on pause constantly to drag their story till the last epi & to show us other plots which were frankly useless.
Useless side character plots- queen, featheringtons, Eloise ka leading to no where crush, and I hated Penelope & whistledown.
Sharma/Sheffield fam toh got so shortchanged. Women relationships were done dirty. Kate-Edwina-Mary bond was so good in the book. Both Edwina & Mary cared for Kate as much as Kate did for them & wanted her to be married & happy. Edwina was never serious about Anthony & she definitely wouldn't have relegated Kate as her half sister even if she did😵. Yaha toh both of them are not even bothered about Kate's future & were trying to pass off their neglect/ignorance of Kate as them respecting her choices🤪. And why the heck was Kate having imp convos with lady Danbury instead of Mary who is her mom in all but biology🤪.
Penelope was the worst in the season. Her bff & bridgerton fam was on the cusp of ruin because of mu that Queen had about Eloise being whistledown but she still wouldn't fess up😡. In fact she did Eloise dirty by revealing her secret of attending radical meetings which she knew would cause societal fall from grace for her family. And in the end when Eloise rightfully felt betrayed by her she didn't even truly feel remorseful & made me hate her even more😡.
We all could have done without the featheringtons ka drama. Why was it needed when it didn't really change anything? I mean even Penelope didn't really know about the scheming that was going on so what was the point of it? Waste of space😆.
Edwina ko independent banane ke chakkar main they only made her out to be a petulant bratty young girl who even after coming to know about her Sheffield fam didn't really grasp the financial mess that her fam was in. She was so self centred about everything man. Feminism ke naam pe yaha bhi selfishness being promoted.
LMAO oh I didn't know you were watching Bridgerton too warna main pehle rant post kar deti😆
Firstly I've never been onboard all this "Kanthony Kanthony" craze jo log 6 maheene se paagal huye pade hain Twitter pe😆.....this was literally one of the most forgettable books in the series to me😆.....but log hype toh aise karte hain jaise UST ke original mai baap hain yeh Kanthony😆.....anyways I was like chalo waise hi they are changing so much from the books toh let's see is story ka kya falooda karte hain but they managed to make it even more bakwaas beyond my expectations 😆
Even the first season is based on one of the most blahh books of the series....lol only reason that book works in the series is as an intro to the Bridgerton characters....and in the series, they managed to cast Simon well toh uska novelty ho gaya....Daphne was a pain in the series - book Daphne is not THIS annoying also😆....but man, now now the first season feels like a masterpiece compared to the maha boriyat of S2😆. I don't even know where to begin counting out the failures.....firstly all this UST that fangirls are imagining didn't translate onscreen cuz the actors are so average😆....I don't remember Anthony feeling this short to me in S1 but in this season mujhe bahut tingu lag raha tha😆.....chalo physical appearance compatibility wouldn't matter if actual content could be executed dhang se....but woh bhi fail.....lol this Kate was maha annoying in her constant uppity smugness in the whole season....if the intent was to show her "protectiveness" for behna, that again didn't land correctly.....I would say a mixture of lame writing and blahh acting....upar se all the token Indian references continued to add to the disconnect.....when you are going to show a friggin HALDI happening before a Victorian church wedding, then umm😆
First season did get hyped cuz of the sex scenes but I would say it actually had better flowing epis, that is why it worked.....lekin is season ko hype karne waale bol rahe hain it was better cuz they had better chemistry without sex scenes😆....lol not really, you don't need sex scenes to establish chemistry if the actors can pull it off with a look and these two really didn't have it despite all the "heavy breathing" and "sniffing" type scenes going on😆
There was just something maha annoying about the younger sister....both the Indian actresses they picked were underwhelming to me at most points....woh jo ek spark hota hai to rise beyond the content and just fill up the screen with your presence - neither of them had it.....so it's a wasted opportunity in the name of showing token diversity....kehne ko cast kar liya as leads but they were still mostly doing tokenism type stuff and definitely woh fetishizing wala feel aa raha tha with hodge podge of hindi words, rituals just thrown in haphazardly.
I don't care much about the rest of the filler side characters cuz woh sab first season mein bhi tha.....they have mostly failed on casting the supporting characters since then also barring Lady Danbury who totally lives up to the book version. Penelope is a COLOSSAL casting and writing fail in the series but that is how she's been since S1 only so nothing much surprised me about her in S2.....Eloise is also way more tokenism types in the series than the books....Colin is supposed to be so charming in the books and he's maha BLAND in the series😆. Right now only Gregory and Hyacinth are showing some promise vis a vis the casting and their books are also both cute ones if the series manages to survive getting to that point 😆.....they are so busy doing this token inclusion exercise that they are losing the essence of the rom-com nature of the books.
I guess they will do Benedict's book next....I quite liked Colin-Pen's book in the books but yahaan faluda hi hoga toh better they are shown as a sub-plot in some other sibling's story than given a whole season to themselves 😆.....Eloise is another one who really can't carry a whole season by herself...the actress playing her does it all in such a neurotic manner too....toh isko bhi sub-plot hi rakhna chahiye.
The next one who actually has a dhang ka plot capable of carrying a whole season is Francesca....but usko bhi maha blahh cast kiya hai😆 so I have no hopes from that side either whenever they get to that point in the series.....the series really can't live up to the books so far....lol unka alag charm hai. And seeing this blah execution makes me think it's just better to revisit the books😆. Pen is so witty in the books rather than coming across as petulant and bitchy like the series makes her look - it's a casting fail too....something about the actress ka face is SO annoying. Whistledown ka saara execution is maha bakwaas in the series....I can only hope they are done with it now that Pen has been exposed to Eloise. She does drop the whole Whistledown stuff after a point in the books also I think....but yahaan can't say cuz the series is running on a whole other trip of tokenism😆. The books weren't trying to do plots on the basis of token jhanda gaadna😆.
Sometimes it feels like the main leads are just Lady Danbury and the Queen in this TV series....lol atleast both of them have screen presence. 😆
