Okay so am also an on again off again viewer, but from what I understood, it was like this...

Aditya Kr Tripathi (AKT) made a mistake at work that led to a lot of damage in the city as well as Aryan's (ASR) family. ASR made it so that AKT got suspended, lost his awards (very strange, dunno if this can happen), banned from journalist community etc etc. This was all for ASR's 'REVENGEGGGGG'.

Imlie went all crazy trying to save the Tripathi family. She went to beg ASR to stop doing all this. ASR then realises that Imlie is destroying herself trying to save the Tripathis. He forces her to fake marry him saying that this way even if he returns AKT's journalism career to him, ASR's revenge will be in seeing AKT be sad seeing Imlie wedded to another. Later AKT tells them that they should marry with all rituals before the family so fake marriage becomes a real one.

Butttt...ASR wants Imlie to fight against him and maybe stop the marriage. For him ideal would be if Imlie chose to stop the marriage by saying ASR could carry on in his revenge plot against AKT and Imlie would not interfere....

Buttttt there is also ASR's unexplored pheeelings for Imlie which comes out at times unwittingly even for him. He actually does not mind getting married to Imlie and this has very little to do with revenge or saving Imlie from the Tripathis

And there is Imlie who knows ASR has been a friend to her in the past and just doesn't know how to reconcile that man with the present one....sooooooo total confusion....

Anyway Sarce would explain better...

Ahhhh I see. That’s a wc change. As far as I remember almost in every GK shows the heroes gotten married to the girls forcefully to save someone else( sister, mother or kandan ki izzat 😂) here at least Aryan is trying to save the girl from her stupidity coz revenge from Adi is just an excuse lol
