No, all doctors are not calm n composed. We have all kinds of doctors. Calm ones who keep a cool head despite the situation they are in, short tempered ones who yell at interns and nurses for little or no reason, strict ones, lenient ones, arrogant ones, understanding ones, ones who listen to music while operating, ones who want pindrop silence, ones who throw the patient charts on our faces if we don't do them right or on right time...oh yeah, they do thod-phod in their own way.

One thing is there though - I'm yet to meet a doctor who is a complete atheist. Because no matter how much we study science and believe in it, place our trust in it, at some point, it sinks into us that we are not in control. There's something else out there that makes the final decision.

That's where Abhimanyu's belief in God comes from.

He believes in God because he believes ultimately not him but someone else is making the final decision.

That's why abhimanyu is shown to be mahadev ke bhakt. He is a religious doctor.

No no. That's not what I meant. I meant while operating, some listen to music playing the background. Else we talk, chitchat (if the procedure is a regular one with minimum complications).

As for talking to the patients - doctors in general do not operate or treat their loved ones. That kind of emotional attachment tends to hamper if any kind of critical decisions need to be taken plus it's not easy to see a loved one sliced open or undergoing any physical / emotional trauma yet remain detached / unemotional. So creative liberties are taken both during Akshu's "surgery" and Manish's.
