Sri Lanka were pretty flat with the ball earlier in the day and that made life difficult for their batters in this final session. The quality of the Indian bowling attack challenged them regularly, though Sri Lankan openers showed a great fight starting off in a solid manner, they could not carry on and eventually perished. Sri Lanka lost four wickets at the end and that will hurt them going into Day 3. Skipper, Dimuth Karunaratne and Mathews were looking quite good while they were in the middle but with both the senior batters back into the hut, now it is upto the young guns from Sri Lanka to bail them out. Overall, a perfect day for India and Sri Lanka would need a lot of things to go their way on Day 3 to stay in this game.

Indian bowlers had a luxury of a big score under their belt. However, they still needed to bowl well to put pressure on the SL batting lineup and Indian bowlers showed their class yet again. The pitch had some help for the bowlers but not much. However, all the bowlers showed tremendous discipline and fire to put pressure on the Lankan batters on a consistent basis. Ashwin broke the opening stand and after that, Jadeja and Bumrah with their superb spell put the pressure on, and eventually, India got four wickets in the session. Especially the wicket of Mathews was key and it is going to be a tough task for the Lankans on Day 3 against a quality Indian bowling attack.

What a day it has been for Ravindra Jadeja. He got a wicket on his third delivery and sent Dimuth Karunaratne back in the hut. Bumrah too redeemed himself after a wicket on the ball.
