I have been categorising this show as regressive. The entire Chavan family is the same. Some just act polished. But when times are difficult their inherent nature spurs up.
Sai was criticised because her friend offered her water in her room. Virat lived under the same roof with another woman, offered to be her husband and the father of her child. Virat may not have initiated that “gesture” from Shruti, but he took his own sweet time to remove his hand after the deed is done. And that too after knowing her feelings towards him. What was that? He was internally enjoying it all, but just acting up to show his moral side? How convenient is it in this society to judge a woman on these grounds but a man is let scott free. Why such discrimination and double standards?
I dont say Sai is completely right, but she is not completely wrong either. Virat has been wrong as well. This whole “Hail Mahaan Virat” is actually establishing all his crimes as not crimes. None of his acts are being addressed. This is such a wrong messaging. And then everyone bowing down to him as some demi- god. Sai has done so much for this family, but none have shown such devotion (if thats what all the good deeds end up into).
The makers themselves are absolute misogynist with such narrow-minded, regressive, thought process. They introduce married women pining over a married guy and they keep coming one after another. Like he is a greek god that no one can control their feelings.. Just because he is a guy and its fine for woman to fall for him and him giving them footage. Nothing wrong; he is being considerate and sympathetic towards the “weaker” section. And reducing woman to what? They have no morals or ethics? The entire show is revolving around extra-marital, infidelity plot line. And they haven’t introduced even one guy who may seem to have some romantic inclination towards Sai. Why? Because that’s not natural? Or Because that is morally incorrect as per society standards. Such mindset.
The entire characterisation of Men and Women in general is so pathetic. Despite audience disagreeing with the acts and deriving a completely different conclusion, the makers are hell bent on portraying men as superior, always right and woman as doormats or vampish.
Message of the show - Men well, are Men! And they have been granted free will. It is woman’s responsibility to ensure that the rules, morals of the societal set up are followed to the T. Woman should not be as fearless, strong and confident as Sai. They ought to be docile, meek and never have a mind or thought or self respect of their own! So each should know their place😡
