Touch- A PriRa ficlet

Touch... Ram and Priya. Two different ideologies about touch. They are two different reactions when someone holds them.

For Ram, touch is a genuine expression of emotions. Touch can't lie, just like eyes can't. Touch can express your darkest intentions and your passionate desires.

Ram is a touch starved man, and he is self-aware. He craves touch. Ram finds it enough when his friends give him a pat on his back or his stepmother pats him on the cheek, and a hug from Brinda can keep him going for a day. But when he falls in love with Priya, he wants to hold her hand and looks in those beautiful orbs fill with wisdom. Ram wants to tuck her hair behind her ear and watch blush creep up her neck. He does that, and thankfully, Priya doesn't comment. When Priya lets him hold her hand as they fall asleep, Ram falls in love with her, again.

Priya... Is not a fan of touch. Priya's family jokes that they have to file an application asking for permission to step within her set personal boundaries every time they want to hug her. But for Priya, touch is not just about personal boundaries. Touch is a reminder of heartbreak and her abandonment issues. So it surprises her that Ram's innocent touches don't trigger her but instead feel like home, like Maa's words. It's a pleasant surprise to find herself blushing when he awkwardly looks away after tucking away her hair strand or holding her hand. She doesn't know if she is in love with Ram. She didn't have the time to think about falling in love, but she knows that she loves the feeling of his hands against her own, his fingers wiping her tears away. Those touches make her hope that she falls in love again.

Touch starved Ram × Pri with a slight amount of touch aversion is my ship, and I am going down with it😍😍😍

I wrote bits of me in the story, I love when people I care about suddenly hug me or hold me, but at the same time, there is a siren in my head going "Personal boundaries!!!"

Nicely written and so true. How they express their affection is also different. Ram is a very expressive . And yes that yearning to just feel her is so evident. Sadly our CV s don't utilize these aspects of their character.
