India would be elated with their posted total, especially given where they were at the halfway stage. The start of the innings wasn't the greatest. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli batted through the powerplay after the early loss of Ishan Kishan. However, the Indian skipper couldn't find his touch at all and was dismissed soon after. Virat Kohli played a controlled innings under the circumstances and completed a good fifty.

The three quick wickets in the middle by Roston Chase really hurt India. He was the pick of the bowlers for the WI, giving away just 25 runs in his spell. However, the solid middle order duo of Rishabh Pant and Venkatesh Iyer picked up the reins for India as they put on 76 runs in just 35 deliveries, demolishing the West Indian attack. Starting from 106/4 in the 14th over, they performed superbly without letting the pressure get to them. Pant went on to complete a half-century while his partner was dismissed in the final over of the innings.
