Ehhh pls. I adore Matchpoint, it’s actually one of my favourite films (we’ll pretend it isn’t Woody Allen’s) but to call Gehraiyaan a copy of it is stretching the truth a bit too far. Matchpoint makes you feel for the characters. Gehraiyaan makes you want to throw the characters into “Gehraiyaan”.

True that. I was so happy when that Ananya character gets pushed into the middle of the ocean. Alas it was not real. 😭

It wasn't a good copy but the plot and situations were all copied from Match Point. MP was indeed a good film, and Gehraiyaan wasn't, but it was definitely a remake. As Raja Sen said, they copied everything barring the maturity.

I can’t get over how ANNOYING HER VOICE IS OMFG.
Nope I love Matchpoint. It’s definitely a far better movie than Gehraiyaan. 😳
Wow..off late m becoming a fan of Raja Sen's reviews..
And to think I used to dislike him once upon a time
The first 75% of the film is like a direct lift(like all major plot points). Only the perspective was changed from the guy to the girl and she was given a backstory.
I was surprised too that they acknowledge this anywhere
