I started watching the show from the beginning just recently and in the initial episodes of yrkkh, Akshara loved to sing. Her BFF asked her to make a career in singing and she told her she's not interested. Akshara in the beginning wasn't career oriented at all. Then I saw how her marriage was fixed with someone before Naitik and then those people rejected her because of her singing talent and Akshara ended up feeling guilty and almost lost her self confidence because of that rishta tootna. She was in so much pressure that she became so damn nervous when Naitik came to see her that she couldn't even open her mouth when they first met each other. This was in the initial episodes of the show.
Now season 3 episodes are also still in the initial stages. Maybe u forgot but when Akshara's entry happened she did say she was not interested in building a career. Instead she wants to use her singing talent in helping patients by making them feel better and relaxed. I am yet to watch the episodes post Naitik-Akshara marriage. If after marriage Akshara became an independent working woman then it's good. I guess her granddaughter too would become independent working woman after marriage only then. Right now the writers focus is more on Abhira relationship than Akshara building a career.
I never looked down upon working women. I myself am a working woman. 😆For me, any woman whether a homemaker by choice/compulsion or working woman by choice is worthy. If Akshara is focusing more on her family and Abhimanyu that doesn't make her unworthy just because she doesn't have a career.
You put it very nicely and that in itself is what the show is trying to give us - that OG Akshara had to fight for basic things like taking her pallu off, the right to sing proudly, then working and etc whereas. But this current Akshara has a choice whether to work or not with no guilt laid on her and proudly singing and dancing whenever she pleases (harsh 'this girl started here as well?' 😆)...btw Harsh is a throwback to the minority but we saw how much importance people gave to his words!😈. This is a reflection of the society majority of us live in, do as we please as long as it makes us happy.
We think having a career or some goals is needed to make us happy but just like the five fingers aren't the same so are people and their individual needs.
Women have choices in every aspect of their lives now, breaking the glass ceiling in every area when once it wasn't so and so why shouldn't they do what ever pleases them?
I am sure once Akshu gets herself organised we will see some of her original goals. Don't forget this is the honeymoon phase of their romance so we will see lot dreams, dancing and just having fun (I hope!😆) but sooner or later life (ie RS) will start going back to it's theme.😃😆
