Chapter 13

"Okay...1..2..3..4 and spin! Got it?" Akshu asked after showing Abhi the step.

"Akshu....I really need to get back to work. We been practicing for 1 hour!"

"Bas, 10 more minutes...you almost got it! Come on now....instead of arguing, if you actually practice, it won't take as long!" Akshu said putting her hands on her hips.

"Fine....1...2...3...4...spin!" Abhi did the step.

"Good! That was....good! Okay now...aye main marjawan marjawan tere bin...." Akshu went near Abhi. "Put your arm around my waist....like this." Akshu took Abhi's arm and put it around her waist and then put her arm around his neck. "Now left foot backward, then forward then backwards, got it?" Akshu said looking at Abhi's feet to make sure he was moving them correctly.

Instead, Abhi was too busy focusing on the lack of space between them. All his attention was on the loose hair from Akshu's top bun which was covering a side of her face. Abhi took his free hand and with his thumb, gently moved Akshu's hair to behind her ear. Akshu looked up and gave him a questioning look. He stared at her face and her eyes. He realized he never noticed before how big and beautiful her eyes were.

"Ummm Abhi?" Akshu said softly. Getting no response, she took her foot and stepped on Abhi's foot.

"Ow! What was that for?" Abhi came out his thoughts.

"Is there something on my face? No? Focus on your dancing! Give me your other hand instead of becoming my hair stylist."

As Akshu went back to instructing him, Abhi started to smile. Tum sach mein iss duniya ki nahi ho, Akshu. Nautanki.

"Wow Bhaiya! Your dancing has gotten so much better!" Vatsal said in awe at the next group rehearsal.

"Kya hai na? Sab tumhare tara nikame nahi hai...practice karte hain." Akshu snapped at him.

"Yeh sab private lessons ka kamal hai!" Aaru whispered softly so only Neil could hear her. Neil started laughing.

"Tu kyun The Kapil Show ki Archana Puri ban gaya hai?" Akshu asked Neil. "Where's that Pooja?"

"Akshu! I told you she broke her foot!" Neil rolled his eyes.

"Okay fine your still stuck with Aaru then." Akshu walked up to the front. "Today we will practice on Diliwali Girlfriend and Gallan Goodiyan parts in our mashup....."

"There are more steps to learn?" Abhi exclaimed.

"We are not even half way done, Bro! Akshu goes all out!" Neil informed him.

More private lessons then. "Okay, let's get started."

Neil looked at him strangely. "Aap ke rang kuch badle badle hain, Bro!"

"Right? Even I agree." Aaru smirked.

"Agar tum logon ka Ted Talk katam hogaye ho toh can we continue?" Akshu yelled.

"Chalo...." Neil said getting in position.

"Beta, how is your thesis going?" Kairav sat on the couch next to Bade Papa.

"Mimi! Plan is back on! Aap bas meri shaadi karwa doh!" Akshu put her head on Mimi's shoulder.

"Thesis se bachne ke liye shaadi?" Bade Papa laughed.

"Akshu....agar tum mandap pe baiti hogi tab bhi tumhari thesis finish karwa ke rahonga!"

"Bade Pupppppaaaaaa!" Akshu cried.

"Kairav theek keh raha hai. Itni mehnat ki hai, todhi aur karo aur finish karo." Bada Papa adviced Akshu.

"Magar abhi toh Krish Bhaiya ki shaadi hai!"

"Shaadi mein time hai...Waise bhi you are almost done. Weekend hai toh I'll help you."

"Kya? Nahi mujhe Abhi ko dance practice karwani hai...."

Bade Papa and Mimi looked each other and smiled.

"Acha Akshu beta, mujhe batao. Yeh Abhimanyu kaise hai? Jab se wapis aaya hai maine theek se baat nahi ki." Bada Papa asked.

"Jaisa hona chaiye hai waise hai. Haan todha Khadoos hai magar mere saath reh reh kar todha kam khadoos ho raha hai....." Akshu looked at Kairav. "Bhaiya please na! Shaadi ke baad finish kar lenge."

"Bilkul nahi. Actually, let's work on it now as well!" Kairav got up and dragged Akshu upstairs.

Bade Papa whispered to Mimi. "Aap ko lagta hai ke Abhimanyu aur Akshu ke beech kuch ho raha hai?"

"Shayad. Aaru bata rahi thi ke pehle se ab ziyada dosti toh hai....magar ab tak Akshu ko kuch pata nahi hai."

"Haan. Batana bhi mat. We will tell her at the correct time."

"How was the dance practice?" Manjiri asked Abhi who was sitting in the lawn deep in thoughts.

"Huh? Dance practice? Ya it was good."

"Aur Akshu theek se dance sikha rahi hai....?"

"Umm....mmmm ya. She's pretty good at it. Magar maa?" Abhi looked at Manjiri.

"Kya hua?"

"Aap ko nahi laghta aap ki hone wali bahu bohat bossy hai?"

"Meri kya?" Manjiri asked in surprise.

Abhi closed his eyes for a few seconds. Seriously, Abhimanyu? You don't even like her. "Mera matlab hai aap chahte ho ke Akshu aap ki bahu bane toh...."

"Aur tu kya chahta hai?" Manjiri grinned.

Abhi shrugged. "Pata nahi...."

Lekin mujhe pata hai....Manjiri smiled. "Tu yahan bait ke soch, main andhar jahti hoon."

"Kya chahta hoon main?" Abhi asked himself.

"Tujhe kya hua? Statue kyun bani hai?" Aaru asked Akshu who was standing by the window lost in her thoughts.

"Aaarruuuu...." Akshu went and sat on her bed. "Tujhe nahi lagta yeh khadoos bohat weird hai?"

"Matlab kya? Ab kya kiya?"

"Ummm.....aaj mujhse kaha ke I should help him pick his Sangeet outfit! Aur dance ke liye be ready hogaya."

Aaru laughed. "Tujhe pata hai na iss ka kya matlab hai?"

"Haan!" Akshu sat up. "Yahi ke main hoon toh pehle se e bohat cool..."

"Akshu! Akshu, Akshu! No you idiot!" Aarohi said pulling her own hair. "Is ka matlab ke he might be in loooooove with you!"

"Yeh lo! Iss purey Udaipur mein aaj tak mujhse kisi ne love shub nahi kiya....aur yeh foreign return khadoos woh bhi itta wadda dil ka Doctor karega?"

"Pehle tu apni filmi dialogues band kar. Mujhe lagta hai yeh dil ke Doctor ka dil tujhpe aa gaya hai."

"Kuch bhi....let me ask him." Akshu took out her phone.

"Pagal ho kya? I'm sure he will tell you himself....magar yeh bata, tujhe toh pyar nahi hogaya na?"

"Mujhe? Pyar! Woh bhi khadoos se! Itney burey din bhi nahi aaye mere."

Woh toh aajayenge, Akshu. "Acha soja." Aaru said laying down.

"Hey Kanhaji, aaj shirtless Sid ko mere dreams me lana." Akshu prayed before turning the lights off.

Is abhi slowly falling for our jhalli nautanki? Will Aaru play Cupid?
