Here's something I never thought I'd say: Karl Marx was right.

Religion is really the opium of the masses.

I'm out. This thread will give me a stroke. Supposedly empowered women don't seem to see the horror they're perpetrating on the disadvantaged among us. All in the name of religion! May God have mercy on all of us!

I dunno, desigal. Perhaps we should ask Malala what happened to her when she tried to get an education in a hijab.

Her incident had nothing to do with a hijab, coz guess what, she still wear a hijab and does well in life. Shocking right?

^ I see a contradiction. :)

Moreover, a woman required to cover up in the presence of men is regressive and patriarchal. This is another huge difference between a hijab and a turban.

You are highly stuck on turbans lol, let me clear this, my stance on this is, if you want to be consistent, then no religious clothing of any kind should be allowed of any community if the school doesn't allow it.

Malala would have faced the same consequence even without hijaab.

Yeah in UK, where she's now living a cushy life.

Remind us again... why did she move from Pakistan? Are her former classmates as free as her?

maybe learn to respect people's choices in life. Not that difficult, you're not anyone's savior. Remember the Europeans and white population who tried to "civilize the native Americans" and destroyed their culture. "White man's burden". Read about it, you have the same mindset

Its a valid point so why not?

OK...so u are saying indirectly that the school would be discriminating..👍🏼

probabaly because turban does not cover sikh man s face while hijab does cover most of face. It can very well be for security reasons . Every place has certain protocols that you need to follow . Protocols that are in place for fair play. Like I cant go to give neet/jee exam wearing a full lenghth salwar kameez covering my face under the pretext of #mychoice .No that is not how it works. All these high level exam have certain rules so malpractice can be avoided . So that a fair exam can be conducted. Same is true for educational institution . We cant be sure who exactly is behind that hijab .Not everything is #mychoice . If once actually thinks about this issue objectively BI you would notice that turban and hijab are not the same
