India is the worst offender. Every other film is about how amazing the Indian army is and how horrible Pakistanis and Muslims are. They do everything within their power to dehumanise minority groups especially Pakistanis and Muslims.

Now Pakistan is following in their footsteps. All this kind of propaganda does is sustain prejudice and racial hate. I heard the army is now funding dramas - that is bad news. It's essentially an easy way to get the masses hooked on propaganda and brainwashed.

What would be beneficial for the masses is a drama truly depicting what happened. Own up to the fact that you as a country were also complicit in the violence, the murdering, the looting. Send out a strong message that civil wars borne of racial and religious prejudices lead to catastrophic consequences, pain and loss on both sides. Perhaps that will be a step towards encouraging people to be kind and respectful to minority group and cognisant of their human rights.

Obviously no country will show itself as the oppressor. I heard the book this show is based on also distorted facts.

It is no surprising after Khel khel mein this show also points the war as some Indian conspiracy.

Just enjoy the drama as a fictional story and read third party sources on the 1971 war if you actually want to know what happened.

Ooh ok. I haven't watched that because of the main character being made to look dark skinned, instead of them just using a dark skinned character :(

I felt the same way when the show was first coming out. I was very vocal about how angry I was that they did not cast a dark skinned actor. I did end up watching the show and it's really good. Although I am still not happy about them darkening his skin, Ahmed's acting is brilliant. I just wish if they wanted to have him play Parizaad, then they could have just made changes, so maybe he could have been more geeky or maybe had a birth mark he was insecure about instead of faking his entire skin tone.

It's not fictional, they are showing every event with date/time. Worst thing is, they are showing armies were compelled to attack. That's totally wrong.

Lmao I know ...they r literally giving day dates times places of happenings that did happen but distorted it to look like Pakistan was forced to attack

Hahahahaha

Hadd Hain waise

I don't mind showing the good officers of Pakistan who were not that evil

My nana was a radio engineer that time and he was very good friends with the Pathan Punjabi colleagues of his who also worked with him in the radio station

The first collision happened when the pak radio authority commander my nana NOT TO AIR THE Sheikh mujib HISTORIC speech of 7th march when he asked the Bengalis to remain prepared for a possible attack and to be ready to shed blood for independence

That time nana had put his foot down and since his post was also high up the hierarchy and he was in charge of what to air or not ...he said he will shut the radio station for good if they don't withdraw the command

Then the command was withdrawn and the speech was aired on radio as tbag time it was the biggest medium of communication

I did not say it is fictional but to consider it a fictional one since we all know it is far from the truth, and there are many things wrong with the show, they show bemgalis as thugs and gunda mafias and pak army as nice guys trying to defend their country. They also showed Sheikh Mujib as some Indian pawn. They showed killing of the biharies as a first act when it was actually a retaliation and Shekh Mujib was not a hot headed Indian pawn, after the war he strategically got the Indian army out of the country but at the end of the day you cannot really expect a pak drama to show their own country in a negative light so just watch it as a fictional drama or don't watch.
