no, Kevin was an avid Stelena shipper. The problem was because Julie Plec was calling all the shots and she has this thing- building something and then wrecking it badly.

When Delena happened, it was like, what they have said until now, "Stelena, the epic love", it was all a lie and we were stupid to believe them.

But a friend told me, "you read the books, they are actually epic".

julie plec didnt know how to write for delena or damon in s1 i could actually love damon i know he's the villain but still he had some heartwarming moments i loved him like that and that was because kevin knew the character and loved writing for him i have read julie wanted elena to kiss damon in s1 itself but kevin clearly said no as its out of elena's character and he had the brilliant idea of bringing katherine which was epic and truly made tvd amazing

the way julie rushed delena in s4 just to please the delena fans was absurd elena clearly chose stefan 6 eps ago they could have waited the entire season to transfer her to damon instead of breaking stefan's heart and making elena act like a bitch if that was the case and if they were good in s5 i would have been on board with delena but they never seemed like a long lasting relationship i tried hard to like them on rewatch but couldnt s1-s3 delena is the best

i wish kevin hadnt left and julie was the one to leave he made tvd s1-s3 gold and it went downhill from s4 i am sure he would have ,made delena happen too and not do any disservice to stelena and start delena in a slow good way and it would have been a better written relationship i guess his endgame would have been acceptable to us in either way be it delena or stelena cause he's a much better writer we would have seen evidence of stefan not being good enough for elena instead of hollow words or better yet delena doesnt last past s5 which proves stelena is meant to be

just watch this scene of s7 here stefan took a hunter's mark on his body to save damon's life and damon had taken care of the huntress but still it was dangerous and she could escape and damon was so codependent on elena that he decided it was better to desiccate next to her for 60 yrs instead of being there for his brother stefan's words are heartbreaking

he didnt leave but he stopped functioning as a show runner and acted only as an executive producer. That kinda sucks.

I don't think a lot of people were happy with what they were doing, according to wiki, the viewership dropped from 4.91 million in season 1 to 0.38 million in season 8

btw what do you think about elena's choice in s3 finale from a neutral point of view?did she choose stefan as whatever she felt for damon couldnt compete with what she felt for stefan or she was grateful to stefan as he had saved her life..its really tricky

for me i think it was the former just because elena thought they were both going to die and still told damon she loved stefan..if she really loved damon more she could have told him that she loved him but she was grateful towards stefan so he got the goodbye especially when she thought he was dying and so there was no reason to lie
