Remaking hit regional shows is an easy way to gain ratings. Actually nowadays everything is all about gaining ratings and not exploring content. Sony is the only channel to think different. Others are just rehashing their old wine in a new bottle.

Like you even i also want youth channels to make a comeback. Technically there should be atleast 2 youth channels as we are in 2022 but unfortunately there's not even one.

Honestly I only see ITV progressing once people our age will become the leads in the industry but till then theres not much we can do so we just gotta wait it out for many years and let the current generation in charge pass.

Bal Shiv should never have been allowed to telecast. It's simply eating a prime time slot. Peninsula PH bahot vahiyaat hai. Aladdin me Muslim entities ka joke kiya. Hero me Hindu entities ka. Aur yaha to poora mythology ki insult ki.

I believe ITV will actually progress when regressive concepts will be stopped completely and shows will be finite. We are living in 2022 still there are shows with no limit in number of episodes. Other countries television is progressive because they know where to stop. We also know where to stop but we dont do that because its easy earning through trps and sadly in India television is business unlike other countries where tv content is king. You see today indian people will have a very different mindset which will be way way more progressive but will that ever be shown in tv ? Thats the question. Our channels dont want to grow. Its so dark like i dont have words.

Exactly. And the reason why these channels dont want to grow is like you said the ratings which keeps their business growing. The day they will start prioritizing content over business is the day we will see these changes occur but there is still time for that before that happens and lets be positive that it does happen some day otherwise ITV has only been going down year by year.

Yesterday Bhabhiji maker said that TV can't be completely OTT. She said they can't try different things at the cost of losing current audience. Even Nilanjana said many honest truths.

I don’t think anyone is demanding TV to go the OTT way. It needs to obviously stay clean and maintain their audience but more thought needs to be put into making a single show rather than churning out the same nonsense in every show which is what they are showing right now.

Good Night India is postponed as its again showing Coming Soon in recent promo clips. Last week it got launch date of 24th January at 10:30pm on weekdays. So they postponed due to COVID scare. I liked some of the promos as it says good jokes.

Yesterday i read Bhabhiji ghar par hai's producer's article where she says that television has started progressing now and it will progress more in the future because now tv has a big competitor and that is OTT. Some channels are aware that a big portion of audience had already shifted to OTT and more to go so now they will have to attract them to bring them back which is why unlike previous year this year is going to be a lot of content on TV. They are going to experiment with different type of shows according to her. But i will say that if the show different but it is not finite then it has nothing special in it. It doesnt make sense like you call a show modern for 100 episodes and after that it become a regular run of the mill, you have to know that you are making a unique project so make it finite or seasonal so it do not lose its essence. I believe these channels should utilize the weekends in making more modern and progressive mini series fictions and not non fictions.
