Bollywood has a lot of Pop- rock singers both males and females. That has been the trend in Hindi music since atleast 2 decades. I don't know much about the South Industry, most of my knowledge is limited to singers like Chitra who are more Classical. But if there hasn't been a big Rock icon in South than it's good opportunity for Smp to leave an impact.

In general, Tamil and Telugu films are early adopters of music trends in terms of genres and singing styles, and also early adopters of cinematic techniques. To an extent Malayalam films also, but more so Tamil and Telugu. Look no further than Mani Ratnam, Ilaiyaraaja and AR Rahman for examples - all from Tamil industry, and all known very well up North as well.

All this she achieved with

No drama

No crazy fan base

No help or promotion from sony

Not stopping her education

No HR or Octopus to give some opportunities or promote among big heads

Only thing she missed was international trips but iam sure they will eventually come in her way in future.

It's an incredible journey in my opinion and all the haters should be burning with jealousy. I wish couple of her songs released this year but I can understand playback songs are tied with movie unlike albums so will take time.

I don't know how long all of us will be active on this forum but thought year end is a good time share our thoughts. Please share your thoughts on her journey so far.

She is one of those rare gems in our country and in some sense, it is good for her that she is based in AP / Telangana rather than Mumbai. In my view, the Telugu and Tamil film industries are usually early adaptors of new trends in music compared to Bollywood and therefore it is more likely she will be valued and get chances there.

Wishing her continued success in 2022 and beyond.

I wish every industry in India acknowledge her in future and give her opportunities. It's been long a south singer made it into multiple industries in a big way. I want SMP to be the one. She already have got first step. If I go by gigs she is doing she is accepted in different states across our country. So now it's music directors who should acknowledge and try out new talent. Iam sure language is not a barrier for SMP. A girl who already tried telugu,hindi,Tamil,marathi,punjabi and Spanish other languages also she can manage. Wishing her much more success in future.

I suppose, she turned 18 this November, so would not have got her both vaccines. So she cannot get visa for most of the countries
