Then the audacity of claiming credit for other people's work!

I'll bite.

From what I've seen, Bollywood from the last 20-40 years as a whole seems way more varied, intelligent, un problematic and watchable than Tollywood stuff from that time period.

Movies like Baahubali are definitely the exceptions rather than the rule.

As much as I admire Sridevi as an actor I am glad Ramya Krishnan did Bahubali. She was excellent as Sivagami and one cannot imagine anyone else in that role except her anymore.

I never saw Hrithik or anyone else say they would have done Bahubali, Magadheera better than Prabhas and Ramcharan.

Nor did anyone claim rights over these films.

So I do not understand where this outburst is coming from.

South has also copied many films from Bollywood. Munnabhai series, 3 Idiots, were remade in South. Most of Amitabh's films like Don, Amar Akbar Anthony, Laawaris, Deewar, Mard, Hum etc were remade and Rajinikanth starred in them copying Amitabh.

So IDK how can only Bollywood be accused of copying or remakes when South has also borrowed a lot from Bollywood and Southern stars still clamour to work in Bollywood or get pan India recognition by working in Bollywood or dubbing their films in Hindi or getting producers like Karan Johar to distribute their films worldwide and give them bigger release.

Both Bollywood and regional cinema have give and take relationship.

Hrithik does not always have actresses in flower pot roles. Aishwarya has solid role in Jodha Akbar and Guzaarish. If he can do a Jodha Akbar, he can easily do a Bahubali with fight scenes by heroines like Tamannah and Anushka. Bahubali series are still male dominated and are primarily about Prabhas. Regardless of heroines in them.

Prabhas did it, owned it, and is Bahubali as far as audience is concerned.

Hrithik would not have been better. He would not have even come close. In fact, he might have ruined it because let's face it, women do flower pot roles in his movies. Can you imagine him letting Devasena steal the show?

Bollywood has always had a bad habit of copying movies, without buying rights until now, and claiming it as theirs. Now, they're even claiming to have rejected the same movies made a success by non Hindi filmmakers?! Bragging *oh, we'd have done it better* is actually a nasty attempt at appropriation.

Edited to add: normally, I'm a no borders to art kinda gal. This kind of nonsense makes me want to say to Bollywood stars *stay in your mediocre industry and don't ruin decent movies.*

I don’t remember him claiming it was offered to him let alone that he would have done it better. One of the things I like about Hrithik is he gives credit to others for their work and praises other actors when he likes their performances. My gut instinct is I don’t believe he would ever say or imply he would have been better than Prabhas but if I’m wrong send me a link and I will definitively read/watch it.

No doubt Hindi cinema is at its lowest.Anyone who has seen Telugu cinema won't say that.Kannada cinema too.

I like Malayalam cinema.I like FaFa.

bold: Malayalam industry themselves have copied from cinemas across the world. FaFa himself has done films that were copies like Female Kottayam,Varathan,Chappa Khurisu.

Other than that films were copied from My Sassy Girl,51st dates.

Anagle is copied from Korean movie Confessions of a murder.Just to name a few.

These are a time I liked these two. But sadly Hrithik is a dried up flop actor like Aishwarya Rai. He hasn't been able to have a hit in years!...
