Do you think anyone will dare criticize this movie?This is based on true and historic event for India. Even haters won't diss the movie. People were being too brave to invest such huge money on this project after seeing Dhoni score big. Dhoni is a contemporary figure. Any movie about Virat will also sell like crazy if made within 10 years. People who would watch 83 are over 50 years for nostalgia factor. But for younger generation, i don't find how it will be so exciting to translate wom into real numbers. Hence, It's failing big time.

I do agree..but then in todays day and age when people are less afraid and have more platforms to voice their opinions they will still call spade a spade..

I remember people saying who will dare criticize it for JTHJ too since it was right after Yash Raj's death and his last directorial..but they did and heavily so..

point being..i do feel much of the praise is coming from a genuine place but like you said could be more of the elderly liking it than the youth

Ranveer is a chameleon, he can be anyone with aplomb, even for minute i didn't think it was not Kapil there on screen, everyone played roles so well, i could connect with all characters maybe except for deepika who seemed unnecessary. I feel a bit sad that my dad who was an avid cricket fan and i had plans to watch this with him, but he passed away this year.

All in all a must watch on big screen.

If I may ask you, are you from India? Here where I live (In USA) we couldn’t even get the tickets for the weekend as some of us wanted to watch the movie a second time. The latest we could get was for Tuesday!

@Bold: Same!👍🏼

It is confusing. Something is just not adding up. I have heard only great things about the movie.

Because the occupancy at cinema halls is 50% in major cities, so as soon as half of the theatre fills, it shows housefull.

Like in this screen, the occupancy occupancy status makes it looks like it's houseful since almost everything is greyed but all the white shield seats are non functional due to covid so in a theatre of 257 seats, 142 seats are marked non functional that makes only 115 seats eligible for booking. And once those 115 seats are booked, a show is marked houseful.

Tough times for the film since along with covid , even people aren't coming to watch much like Spiderman and Pushpa.They could've delayed the film a little more. Who in the right mind would've spend so much just after watching Spiderman in the same month. That too in a year like this where sab ka pocket tight hai. Plus their so called target group, the older generation has now become very comfortable with OTT while sitting at home for the last two years. Everyone knows the film will come online in a month. Unlike what the makers believed, the current generation does not care about nostalgia, for them cricket is Kohli and Gang, not the cricket team from the 80s. So no wonder even their footprint is less.
