It could another possibility where Adi knows that Imlie could handle these insults in her own way.

The story telling has all got jumbled up with typical obvious over hyped cliches and slow motions in quest to project Imlie as a super human (even Rajnikanth Sir fans will be surprised on this). As long as story was true to its natural format, the natural love between Aditya and Imlie, the jealousy of Malini, everything was fine. But why and how a middle class family (as per the family own admissions) or even Malini's family have usage of guns etc, the overhyped actions.. it moves from natural story telling to superficial fiction where just to make folks wear some dresses, the DDLJ songs etc put.. It fails to create that interest in audience. Unless some die hard folks who follow Adlie or Arlie love link.. But all can get married to anyone and story can end. A classic case of bunch of wasted talents, directors etc in an effort to just get TRP. All good stories need to end.. That is what life is all about. Anything twisted, damaged and stretched is bound to reflect on each actor's faces sooner or later. So maybe we find Adi smiling when Anu telling Imlie that she is Naukrani.. but maybe he is amused as to how long Audience and himself can bear all this

May be Gash is confused what is the reaction should I give now? So he gave a neutral reaction so audience can interpret in whichever they want. What a pathetic show it has become now!
