Maybe. Maybe not.

Both Bajirao and Khilji had a certain madness and intensity that Ranbir may not have replicated, it is not his style. If he did play these characters they would be different from the ones we know and recognize.

LOL! Khilji is a reviled invader in eyes of most Indians.

Playing him was a huge risk and Ranveer, Deepika, SLB had been getting threats even before the film was made. From announcement itself they had been getting threats on how story will be shown and Ranveer was abused online for doing that role.

That character was a huge risk for sure for a young actor and the story was risky for any maker.

Stop undermining real risks of actors and filmmakers to prop up someone else.

Khilji was not a random villain like SRK in Darr or Kajol in Gupt. It is historical character with its own baggage as an invader that existed in real life and was resented by masses.

No. Ranbir is a good actor but have limits. He cannot pull such roles..

While I think Ranveer can pull a Barfi, I dont think Ranbir can play some of Ranveer’s roles like Simba or Khilji. Contrary to populat belief, Ranbir can play Lootera I guess.

Ranbir cannot play Kapil Dev either. Limited acting at least whatever I am exposed to. Same type of roles, with an exception of YJHD.

I can imagine Ranbir as a psychopath killer and as an underworld don or even a James Bond villan. I loved his acting in as a grey character in Rajneeti.

How to compare and conclude when Ranbir has yet to do one role like Bajirao or Khilji? He has almost always played a man child. If you want me to compare then maybe I would say no one can play man child roles like Ranbir. Ranveer is different league when it comes to acting. He is sincere in his efforts. He learns and puts in hardwork. He challenges himself and I am glad he finally got the roles he wanted to do instead of being offered leftovers or bad roles rejected by others. Ranveer is eager to do good roles and push himself. I can’t say that same about Ranbir, who has pretty much gotten too complacent over the years. Anyhow I believe Shahid is still the better actor compared to both Ranbir and Ranveer but even he would not be able to pull off Bajirao or Khilji. Both roles required someone like Ranveer and it worked.
