So I chose the actor I want for this role and I'm hoping its obvious why XD

Ye hai kaun? Abhimanyu wondered as he grew aggravated with the sight of Akshara and this guy so close together.

"Kareb lag rahe hai" Neil muttered to Parth.

"Yeah" Parth concurred. "Usne Akshara ko Akshu bulaya aur Kairav ne react hi nahi kiya."

Abhimanyu growled at Parth and Neil's comments.

Akshara rolled her eyes in response to his comments.

"Chodo mujhe"

"Sure?"

"Haan." Akshara, grew subconscious of their position and uttered in a small voice, "everyone's watching us."

The scene before him reminded Abhimanyu of their encounter at the hospital.

"Okay," He shrugged and dropped her to the ground.

"AH!" She screamed as she fell flat on the ground. The Goenka clan, excluding Aarohi, laughed at Akshara's plight while the Birla family watched in suspense. "Haider!"

"Kya?"

Akshara's anger grew trifolds as she stared at Haider's feigned innocence. "Tum na!" She pointed her index finger at his face.

"Main na?"

"Car ke samne jump kyun nahi kar lete? Idiot."

"Akshu, agar car tum drive karogi, toh main khushi khushi jump kar loon ga" Haider winked.

Kairav smiled at the exchange between the two. Akshara became a kid again whenever Haider was present, stomping her feet and whining in mock protest. Haider reminded her of when she didn't have to look after her family because her Papa and Sirat Maa were there.

"Haider, kyun humari bachi ko tease kar rahe ho?" Badi Mama said. From her laugh, it was evident she wasn't concerned about Akshara's condition.

"Swarna Aunty, maine kya kiya. I did what she told me to do"

"Mera ye matlab nahi ta Haider aur ye tum jaante ho." Akshara retorted.

"Relax, Akshu" Haider said, casually wrapping an arm around Akshara's shoulder and pulling her into a side hug.

"Tum yaha kar kya rahe ho?" Aarohi interrupted.

"Kairav invited me to your wedding," He greeted the rest of the Goenka's before making his way to the patriarch of the family. "Manish Uncle, here are the photos you requested from Ma. Inn ladko main koi toh aapko Akshu ke liya theek laga."

"Bade Papa, maine kaha hai na ki mujhe abhi shaadi nahi karni toh aap kyun meri liya rishta dhoond rahe ho?" Akshara was exhausted from convincing her family to let go of her marriage, but no prevail. If Akshara was stubborn, so was her grandfather, just not when it mattered.

"Exactly Uncle. Kyun koi bechare ko bali ka bakra bana rahe ho." Haider injected.

"Excuse me?" Akshara shouted.

"Haan. Hume Akshu ke liya rishta nahi, uss ladke ke liya dua karni chahiye jo iss se dil lagae" Haider shot a quick glance in Abhimanyu's direction before continuing. "Because she will steamroll over all his feelings."

"Main itni buri hoon kya?" Kairav's heart sank seeing his little sister like this - head down, voice a mere murmur, laced with guilt.

Haider sighed. "Nahi, tum bahot pyaari ho. You're an amazing daughter, sister, and friend," he said as he made his way around the room. With each title, he stood near the corresponding family members. For example, he walked behind Mimi and Swarna when he said daughter, who sent an endearing smile in Akshara's direction. "Par mehbooba tum bereham (merciless)," he confessed, facing her once more, with his back to Abhimanyu. "Aur tumhari khamoshi? Jaanleva," He added.

After a long pause, Akshara "Agar asi baat hai, toh mujhse rishta kyun nahi toda?"

The tension in the room was palpable.

Kehne ke liya, ye conversation Akshara aur Haider ke beech mein thi. Par, baat toh Abhimanyu aur Akshara ke rishte ke hi thi. On hearing Akshara's question, Abhimanyu finally made eye contact with the lady, but before he could comment, Haider continued.

"Kyun ki hum apni galatiyan ko repeat nahi karte. Aur tumse dil Lagana ki galti toh Phir se nahi hoogi"

"Ab tum aa hi gaya ho toh mere fiance se milo. Abhimanyu, renowned cardiothoracic surgeon," Aarohi boasted. "Aur Abhi ye hai Haider. He went to high school with Akshara and me."

"Abhimanyu" he sternly corrected before extending a hand to Akshara's friend. Aarohi gulped in embarrassment. Ye Abhimanyu bhi na. Sab ke samne mujhe embarass kar raha hai. She thought.

"Hi. I've heard a lot about you."

"Aarohi se?" Abhimanyu asked, breath held in for hope.

"Nahi" Haider paused, "Kairav." The spark in Abhimanyu's eyes vanished when he heard Kairav's name instead of Akshara's.

"Acha chalo, tum bhi humari wedding planning mein help kar lo. Waise bhi, Akshara has no taste in decor toh meri tum hi akhri umeed ho" Aarohi said.

The Goenka-Birla clan resumed their activities while Akshara used Haider as an excuse to avoid Abhimanyu.

By the end of that evening, the wedding date was decided. The Goenka elders consulted with their Guruji while the Birla's arranged the PR activities for the wedding.

"Iss khushi [the date fixed] koi mithai se commemorate karna chahiye" Harshvardan said.

"Sahi kaha Uncle. Main leke aati hoon" Akshara said rabidly. Only a fool would miss her displeasure for the situation as she rushed into the kitchen to escape Abhimanyu's taunting gaze.

The kitchen scene between Abhimanyu and Akshara happens as per 18th December's episode, except Akshara sinks to the ground when Abhimanyu leaves in tears.

"Abhimanyu!" Haider called. Haider noticed Abhimanyu sneaking away to see Akshara on the pretense of using the washroom and followed the agitated man.

The scene before Haider's eyes mimicked his mom's sappy Indian soap operas where the stupid sacrificial lamb heroine denies her love. At the same time, the hero goes on a self-destructive rampage. Pyaar hamein kis mod pe le aaya, Ke dil kare haye, koi to bataye, kya hoga Haider thought as these lines were apt for their situation.

"Can we talk? Akele mein?"

"Sure," Abhimanyu huffed. The exchange with Akshara left him exhausted and unsure of how long he could handle this charade of a rishta. Haider led Abhimanyu to a vacant corridor in the house.

"Look, main bhi tumhari tarah hi hoon aur mujhe jalebi jaisi baatien nahi karni aati. Tumhari aur Akshara ki baatien mein suni hai and it's messed up man. What you're doing is messed up."

"Excuse me?" Abhimanyu said, his chest rising in fury as Haider hurled accusations at him. "Do you even know what you're talking about?"

"Main sab jaanta hoon" Haider maintained as he stepped closer to Abhimanyu. The two men bore their chests at each other like a fight was soon to break out between two dogs in a pissing contest. "Do you think you're being fair to her? Telling her you love her one day and proposing to her sister the next? It's insane."

"Waah!" Abhimanyu clapped back hysterically. "Aur usne jo kiya woh sahi tha? Baar baar mujhe reject kiya, meri feelings ka mazak uradiya aur phir bhi, aap mujhe villian ka tag lag aa rahe ho. That's messed up."

"Woh zaalim hai, main jaanta hoon. But at least her heart is in the right place. Lekin tum toh uske nazaar se halat ko dekh hi nahi re kyun ki tumhara pyaar conditional hai. Tumne to pyaar iss shart pe kiya tha ke woh bhi tumse utna hi pyaar karegi aur waise hi karegi jaise tum karte ho. Ki woh bhi cheek cheek kar bolegi ki 'I love Abhimanyu' aur sab ko chod degi. Par woh Abhimanyu nahi hai. Woh Akshara hai". Haider paused in exasperation, at a loss of what to say without disclosing something that only Akshara has the right to.

With blood rushing up to his face and his veins popping out, Abhimanyu growled, "how about this then? Woh bhi sahi aur main bhi sahi kyun ki pyaar aur jung mein sab fair hota hai."

"Toh ya kya hai, Abhimanyu? Ye pyaar hai ya jung?" Haider inquired.

"That's up to Akshara to decide." Abhimanyu stormed out of the corridor without any warning and rejoined the rest.

When everyone fell asleep, Haider and Kairav met on the rooftop to discuss their next steps.

"I don't know what to do man" Kairav sighed in helplessness. "They're my sisters. I can't intervene without it looking like I'm favouring one over the other. Especially with Aarohi, uski insecurities escalate karengi."

Haider patted Kairav's shoulders to comfort his friend while Kairav continued. "Aarohi won't back down easily."

"Especially if she thinks we're trying to change her mind or force her, she'll never give in," Haider added. "But if she arrives at this decision on her own, then we have a shot."

"Woh kaise?"

"Tum dekhte jao," Haider said with a glint in his eyes that comforted Kairav more than words could ever.

To be very honest, this was a chapter I needed to write so the reader can link events in the upcoming chapter(s).

You portrayed our emotions through Haider and said what was needed to be said. And Abhi's pov was also well explained. This is what I was worried how Abhi's state of mind is, and what is driving him to do all this nonsense (had a small doubt that this was to make Akshu confess, but going by the current track in the show, I've lost that hope)

Can't wait for the next part..
