Yes, that's true. Every singer in India grows up listening to classical music so it's much easier for a western zone singer to sing Indian tunes than vice-versa. Voice texture also matters. Good thing is that Arunita seems interested in western style and bollywood music from 2000's had a lot of western influence so it's not completely foreign to her. Now realistically she'll never sing like a Mariah Carey but can definitely carry a pop tune when needed.
