Hmm that's also true wanting your child married in a good and comfortable place is want every parents want but they don't do such evil tricks which nandini is doing. Plus nandini is not even trying to make shivi understand that her decision is wrong. It's just that she wants to dominate and rule everybody's life and she will decide what will happen in her children's life. And the way she treats ram calling him her son no mother would do that🤢
I don’t think that is wrong unless it is sought to be achieved by coercion, deceit or unfair ways. Every parent will wish for their children to have financial security, a comfortable life, a nice big house & luxuries. That desire by itself is neither wrong nor selfish.
Also, parents will try to see that their kids (esp girls as they go ‘into’ the other family & home) marry into compatible families with similar background status & lifestyle - this is so that adjustment problems will be minimal. That again is a completely rational & fair desire.
The problem with Nandini is not what she wants for Shivi (she prolly understands Shivi well as she herself might have been like her in youth), it is the means she adopts - manipulating Ram, bulldozing Shivi, throwing Priya under the bus, using Mami etc.
