Nothing sexier than a man who stands up for his Mom. I can't stand it if anyone is rude to my mother and no one should tolerate it. So yeah, for me Virat was hot today. Even hotter because he apologized for not doing it earlier.

Virat was really good today. He took a stand for his Aai and asked tough questions. Giving creative license to daily show makers for their ham handed handling of a sensitive subject (and keeping in mind that Kaku once gave her own grand daughter away) this was a great episode. It brought up some though provoking questions. Why didn't Ashwini speak up all these years? Likely because she was financially dependent on the family. Like so many women in her position. It's why she promised Sai wouldn't go through what she went through in that house and she has tried to shield Sai in her own way.

Props to makers for going way beyond KD here. If you are looking for romance, the last episode is the one you are looking for. This one is all drama..but for once..it's not all zillat 🙏.

Edited: Hitting it out of the park 2 days in a row. Sai actually explained conditioning to Virat fairly correctly. I am so impressed. Also impressed at Virat's genuine contrition at not speaking up for his mom earlier. Ninad did not flip like a crazy dude. He agreed to celebrate his anniversary for his son, not his wife. And he told Omi to support his son too. Chamatkaar. Everything made sense.

Sai and Virat's conversation today- chef's kiss. Brilliant. Watching in a silo pretending pre-accident Virat didn't happen, these episodes are solid gold. 👏

I agree. Somewhere in their own hamhanded way they do address issues and this is why they get the trps. This happens in many joint families in India.

I almost teared up at the pre cap. Couples who have trouble in their relationship forget there's a child watching them, and subconsciously blame themselves. Virat asked the right question... what's his identity if his father hates his own mother? He must then feel like a burden.

Virat asked the right question- whats his wajood if the marriage of his parents is a sham. Is he a compromise born to save a dying marriage or is the only thing holding apart a dying marriage....its tough on him. Growing up for him to see certain things has him confused. Hes sensitive but also patriarchal. Hes imbibed the good values but the inner Ninad surfaces n gets channeled when he is provoked.

But having said that its kinda trivializing the matter if they want to celebrate anniversary when Ninad is basically saying- i dont care 2 hoots for this woman called Ashwini.

Ok, they want the couple to see if there is anything there to reconcile but a loud anniversary celebration is the last thing to do that. Maybe a small private celebration for the couple alone would be better. But all this should only be if both the people in the relationship want to committ to a new start. If not, its useless.

I agree...I have always wanted that for Virat...And not just a Baba or Bas Baba or making faces from him...but a full blown standing up for the woman who has brought him in this world...All his good values are because of this woman and he knows that... I was extremely upset in him when he disrespected his mother during Amey's kaand and ousting drama... Virat as a character also disappointed me in the way he treated both his Aai and Usha Mausi...

I have not seen the latest episode...still at 27October...But it's such a welcome change in him if he is standing up for the right...That's what is expected of ML...because people do follow... I hope they don't make him again get back to his previous version...This change is pleasant...and I am not even talking about Sai here when I am talking about the change..but just his Aai and her respect in the house..

Yeah, I think the makers of these shows have these narrow confines they have to work within. They need to balance what makes sense versus TRPs so it usually ends up looking shallow and clumsy. But still, I give them props for getting the son to bring out that his mother has been poorly treated all these years and asking some good questions.

And yeah..couples in loveless marriages who stay together for the kids always forget the kids are absorbing everything around them and are scarred by it. Virat is too, I'm sure.

Obviously, IRL an anniversary celebration makes no sense. But creative license. Let's assume the anniversary is a surrogate for marriage counselling.

I agree with you. This was much needed. And honestly, if you can't speak up for your mom, you will never be able to speak up for your wife.

Updated yesterday's post in the main topic with a few thoughts on today's episode. Same title, I figured why waste a post 😃.
