@ ZEAL:
As far as debates on public issues are concerned, people are allowed to be uninhibited without any censorship, out in the open, and they will range from mildly unpleasant to sharp and downright bitter and sarcastic attacks on the govt. and public officials. That is also a part of democracy and no one gets to "control" their freedom of speech. The most you can do is put your points forth and do your bit as an educated person, you can't control people who are upset with the govt just because you are not. I'm sorry your sentiments were hurt but you can't impede others freedom of speech. That's all I'll say on it.
If you really want to talk about crossing lines, getting dirty and personal without having a solid backup, I think you should assess some of the things your buddies have been spewing in the name of preserving sanskar and sanskriti while sticking their noses up and looking down on others here. To my knowledge, no one has been advocating drug addiction or use of cocaine or hash or weed. I've seen many of them celebrating with ROFLs all over with all kinds of namecalling like druggie, phoonkh, etc. directed not just at "he-who=shall-not-be-discussed" but also indicating that members supporting his case might be indulging in it too. Now you tell me if lines weren't crossed there and if you haven't been indulging in below the belt remarks yourself.
None of that bothers me on a personal level cuz it's just dirt off my back but just trying to make a point here that you lose the right to sulk about people crossing lines when you have been hanging out with and encouraging people I describe in the paragraph above ^^ ... just cuz they happen to have the same political allegiance as you or for some odd reason, you think they comprise the "rational" side of things here.
That said, I have said everything I had to say and kinda regret starting this conversation at all, so please feel free to read my post and move along ... duty calls and I don't have time to continue. Thanks.
