I started reading Beautiful World, Where are You today but the absence of quotation marks is really bothering me. Anyone else having this issue or is it just me?

Yessss
It was such an annoying book
I struggled to finish it
I started reading Lace
I DNF'd it. It was the first book I ever DNF'd, so it was difficult for me but I managed it. Never been as proud of myself as I was about DNFing a book😆
I'm a few months too late but I finally read Mexican Gothic. It kept reminding me of The Shining. Anyone else felt the same?

I would be too. I am yet to reach that point
No matter how bad a book is, I get restless until ive finished and got rid of it😆

I'm the same, or I was until a couple of days ago 😆
But I hope I can get rid of that tendency. There are so many amazing books out there.
Anyway, how was the overall story? I got frustrated from the lack of quotation marks but maybe the story was good?🤷

The whole concept of the house being sentient is the same. The author tried to put a genuine, scientific reason behind it in Mexican Gothic but it didn't work for me very well. It was an okay read at best.

Exactly there are so many good books/writers out there who we are missing out on.
You didnt miss anything. Nothing much happened in the story. I forgot what happened already which means it wasnt important/worth remembering😆
I have heard a lot about this writer though and always wanted to read her books. But after reading this I was surprised why she is so popular?? All her books seem the same with just a few character changes here and there and a terrible writing style.
