When these characters don't face problems like what people do in real world, why do we judge their morality based on how they should be like in the real world?

It is fiction, if things were to get solved by mere conversations and they did talk, then how will they even elongate their tracks?

If they don't stretch the tracks they do have, they would have to come up with tracks that don't even make sense after a while.

If it were a finite series, I still understand that they wouldn't have to stretch things and would let the characters' misunderstandings get solved easily, but this is ITV, they don't even know for how long they have to write a story for.
