Ruby’s case is a reminder that one shouldn’t flout rules and laws no matter what others are doing. It comes back to haunt you. Also a reminder of terrible condition of education in our country. Ruby is a victim too, in a way. You can bet, in her school/ college.. no teacher would actually be doing real teaching. That’s the state of educational institutions in most backward places. People get degrees but don’t really know much or anything at all.
While SRK shows us that kindness and compassion goes a long way and helps one through harshest of times.

I had a similar experience with CITU workers years ago when we moved to the other place . A lot of them are wonderful hardworking men . But the bad eggs are really bad. It wasn't a donation ,they demanded insane wages, but the party would have gotten involved on their behalf in case things escalated . They wanted 8000 when the standard rate was 3000. We were moving to this place that had no parking space so the truck was parked in public space and you had to take the stuff right into the stairway after unloading. Since it wasn't parked in private property they had a 'right ' to do it and prevent anybody else from doing it. Unless we did it ourselves. Tried to negotiate first upto 5 k but they wouldn't . Finally we decided to do it ourselves. Mum and I looked delicate and girly so they didn't expect us to haul heavy furniture in. Took us hours but we did it and ALL that while they stood there smoking and staring. They looked sheepish when we were done . Made my backpain worse but it was worth it. Since then they've been very respectful. I have neighbours here in the new place, who are scared of them. Two dozen of them gather out of nowhere...it's very intimidating.
It happened in Kerala 3 years ago and Ganesh utsav is not a big festival in Kerala . It was an open threat. She is my mother's elder sister , a widow,and a teacher by profession. Her son is in abroad and his house construction was in progress,so these people understood the background and they thought that she will abide easily.But luckily for her CITU supported her as those who demanded donation is from their rival party.
U Thackeray got a point. Local police are actually seizing crores of Ganja while NCB is busy in clicking pictures and giving interviews
