I think Lotus may be feeling less confident seeing the others speak English and their polished appearance, so she tries to join in and over compensate by excessively laughing at others' jokes. But sometimes how she carries it across (certain words/ laughter) backfires on her even though she meant no harm.

First of all I don’t understand what was the issue. Namitha was angry for the words “ mayakura” whereas lotus was telling annachi about the “ 40 enna 400 kuda pethupa” .. From the beginning I felt like Namitha was trying to find a reason to fight. In the bathroom she kept on saying to lotus “ ours will be the first fight in the house, we will fight in the morning”. Though it appeared jovial it sounded like she was trying to find a reason .

@bold : I don’t agree with this . There is Isai who is similar to her . In fact this time most contestants speak good Tamil without english mix. In fact in one occassion, lotus was teasing pavni for her tamil ( pavni, iykki, & lotus conversation) .

Sadly no one can replace Bala for me in this season 😒. Bala was so unique. He can show attitude to people who tease him as well as he can be down to earth and be a brother to people like Anitha, Nisha. He can be a devoted friend at the same time a fearless, ruthless enemy. I agree Uma, it wasn't clear on whether Namitha confronted Lotus over the 'mayakara' part, while they showed the adoption conversation between Namitha and Lotus near the sink. So I don't know if Lotus was aware that Namitha took offence at her earlier remark.

True, perhaps it's not really about the English.

Isai lives in Chennai, and in the music industry so I'm guessing she is accustomed to those from urban areas and able to mix well with them.

Annachi and KP - though they hail from down South, they have been in the industry for some time, so they would have gotten used to the glitz and glam, and know how to interact with the urban kids.

On the other hand, Thamarai, being both a newcomer to the industry (not sure about this) and not a native of urban Chennai, could be still trying to find her footing in this new place. That is the impression I get from her. Sometimes I see her observing the others trying to figure them out. She is being herself and at the same time trying to find common ground with the rest.

I felt bad when she was crying and Namitha didn't accept her apology immediately.

She was talking to Pavni at one point when they were having 1-1 emotional conversation about her life.

She also invited Lotus over to Germany to visit.

Also shared her story and additional info with Raju and group.

They didn't show her much apart from that.
