That date I felt was his attempt, to make Imlie smile and say sorry. Did it help? Well partially, because Imlie did smile, Imlie did talk...did the sorry help? No, and Imlie made it loud and clear to him. No where did I see AKT trying to make the date romantic or cringe, but that is just my opinion. Even in the hug, you can see his apprehension and he is the one who even basically asks her to let go because their destination was reached. What I liked about that scene was they both are trying and sometimes that is all it takes!
I want to think that AKT is registering, albeit the denial right now still holds a large percentage of the brain space. I think he believes Malini is behaving weird but is cancelling out as emotionally unstable mind! Didn't he say koi bhi aurat itni boori nahi hoti ki apne bacche ke boora chahegi- again a big dialogue here- I saw a bit of foreshadowing here- so Didi is either going to be realized as very boori or this pregnancy is fake for sure. Actually in both cases didi will be boori and there is not going to be any escape from that revelation.
Malini and Rupi di scenes in front of the entire family- I think that was another key scene which will be favor of Imlie in coming days..
Point being, they are brining some interesting scenes, but the way they are not maintaining that flow and suddenly inserting in some random comedy is just killing that entire succession of events...
I agree Whatever ji. The execution is bad. Especially the scene where he speaks his heart out to Imlie. Ughh why did they have to do it outside Ms room and I felt like it was somewhat rushed too. I was not able to watch it in peace. was worried during the whole scene if dd was eavesdropping. And dd getting ready, challenging Imlie and suddenly bistar pe with everyone around her and wherever the doctor went. Crappy.
The date was not as bad as I expected it to be. Cuz, of course, it is adilie and ST & GM did a good job with keeping the hesitance and awkwardness intact.
Also, his monologue showed the weight of the guilt he was carrying. I get it, he's confused he is not in a position to think of anything but he's trying something, right? why not try to do what she's asking him to? that is all I'm saying.
