1Statement :
‘Fans themselves normalise abusive relationship in Ghum and can't leave their SaiRat ship no matter how abusive their ML is and then goes onto blaming the channel/PH for showing regressive content These fans are the ones who should be blamed tbh. Fans need to take a stand if they wanna see good content. Don't give TRP/ hype & don't promote that ship. For channel/PH, it's their business. As long as it's benefitting them, they won't change anything.’
P.S.
Showbiz is nothing but a business. PH and channel invest hoping to earn through it, it has nothing to do with moral consciousness, when there is audience for it, content will be there. No point blaming writers.

I don't know the source of this statement, but I agree with it. I was this fan 15-20 years ago too. But now, I have grown up, have got a decent world view and I know better. I don't want to be a person who ships such couples, even for the sake of watching some intense push-pull, wall pinning and angst between two good looking people. But hey, I won't judge people who do😊
Regarding the topic about it being a business and purely driven by numbers, I disagree. Any content creator needs to have a certain amount of social responsibility to give out a correct message. Fiction heavily influences real life in India. That is why it is very important to not romantisice things like domestic abuse, eve teasing and one sided creepy love.

@ bold : they should but apart from rare few, they don’t. for them, it is only a medium through which they earn.
I read this statement on Twitter
There was a time I loved wall pinning thinking it to be romance in my teens.Later only understood its gravity. The thing itv lack is respect between spouses which I only seen in a show named shastri sisters. There the ml after their real marriage doesn't disrespect fl even after doubting her for an affair. It was mutual respect which was first present in sairat which got lost in midway and now I hate shows in which a negative ml marry positive Fl forcefully and later she reforms him
The source please
