Because of his abandonment issues. Esha and he were in love and wanted to marry each other but she left him, for money (or so he was made to believe).

Now he has all the money but the fact that he married Pallavi by force has never stopped bothering him on some level. Sure, they are in love now but the kaise mujhe tum mil gayi thing is still going on in his head. It's not about his faith in Pallavi's love but more his lack of faith in his destiny and seeing Esha once again triggered all those repressed feelings.
