Yes I didn’t go public initially because one of the guys knows my parents but the plan was olwoly eat ppl know. Also these aren’t my close friends but more of a secondary large group of friends. And this was his first time meeting them so I felt very awkward and embarrassed that he would agree to go for dinner with them. Then when I asked him to correct himself he said “sorry I forgot I made plans with her so can’t come”

Okay gotcha! I honestly don’t think it’s much of a big deal. If this is his first time meeting your friends, he may have been nervous and eager to leave a good impression on them - especially if your relationship is a secret. Coming up with on the spot excuses/responses can be even more difficult if you’re trying to not make your relationship obvious.

It’s likely that your bf may have been put on the spot and he responded quickly without thinking. These kind of slip-ups can happen. What’s more important is that he corrected the situation before it got more awkward.

I don’t think you should be angry with him but that’s my opinion. Shit happens and it’s not really much of a big thing for you to stay mad and ruin your mood over.

Would anyone of you freak out if you and your bf haven’t gone public but he agrees to go out for dinner with my friends (in front of me) fully knowing that he made plans with me? He said he only did it because he felt bad saying no to them.

I agree but why did he even accept the invite (via group text) in the first place when on the side chat we were making our own plans? Also we were planning on going public slowly.

worst was when I asked him why he did that and he a like I got carried away and I’m like okay correct it then and he’s like no I will text them a minute and say I can’t make it. I’m like why can’t do just say it now and we got into a fight.
