This discussion highlights the hypocrisy. I haven't seen still a single member highlighting weird things in Islam, quoting problematic verses but will have their own interpretations of each and every minute thing of Hinduism.

I am actually stupid to get myself so much involved in this stupid topic as nothing gonna happen. You can find umpteen number of people asking to reform Garuda puran or Kanyadan but you won't find people who will oppose the problematic things in Quran and will agree to have reforms.

@Red: I can only speak for myself here. I spoke about Kanyadaan for one that is the topic of the discussion and for two it effects my life directly. As a principle I don’t talk about the stuff that I have no idea of and Quran and Islamic rituals/practices is one of those- and also the fact that they absolutely don’t effect me directly. I believe in first cleaning my own home before going out and attempting to clean other people’s homes(I would rather not, actually). I am not a reformist but I am a mere human being who happens to find the knowledge in the Vedas and Vedangas as the best way to find peace and happiness.

EDIT: What is this ajeeb sosha anyway that everyone has to speak about everything under the sun? It doesn’t work that way. Not everyone is knowledgeable nor interested in every subject. If someone is speaking about Rhino rights but not saying anything about the Tiger rights, it may be because that person was more effected by the Rhino killing or may be that person wants to first tackle the Rhino rights then come to the Tiger rights. Also why complain about other people and demand what they should be doing? Why don’t ‘you’ be the one? Did someone stop you from saying anything about ALL the subjects? For one, I didn’t even see you say anything constructive on the topic here except complaining that no one is going out of the topic and brining in the other topics and talk about them in this topic.

It is their money. They can do whatever they want with it. Whether spending it on their wedding or donating it or buy drugs off it. Their life, their money, their choice. I do not understand why people have a problem with others having big weddings.
