Leave everyone, just look at my own mother.

My dad is from a pure Brahmin family, my mom's dad is Brahmin but my grandma(mom's mom) is Tamang(not Brahmin), so my dad's parents used to discriminate her during religious functions and all that, not eat rice/dal cooked by her and all that shit.

But still that has not changed gotten the caste system away from her, like she doesn't discriminate people on regular basis, her best friend is also someone from the so called lower caste, but whenever there is religious rituals or something like some festival season, she is like, do not eat at XYZ's house, they are from lower caste, and I am like "what, so all the years of discrimination and you still encourage it", and all she says is, "don't try to act smart, this is something going on through centuries, so you think our ancestors were stupid", and than I ignore her like I ignore social media trolls😆.

So I have realised that this system is seriously fcked up.

Leave my mom, she is still Hindu, I have seen many Hindus converted to Christianity, and still have that caste system mentality. I am like astonished by all that😆

Same...My mom and I always argue whenever there is a topic about caste system...She also doesn't discriminate but doesn't accept wholeheartedly too... Like, the marriage topic..Says their ritual and customs don't match with us.. Ofcourse, customs are different for different caste but why does that even matter!

My grandmother doesn't eat the food, especially in a religious occasion made by my thulomamu (father's brother's wifewho is a Chhetri) . I feel so bad ...

In my mamaghar, there are damai (so called lower caste people) just near the house..My grandparents used to do everything like giving them vegetables, milk, in festivals, prasad, cooked food and all but they weren't allowed to enter the home!!

Whatever happens, they had to stay outside, no touch ..I know they accepted it since forever and were always respectful to my grandparents but they must be thinking why them? With no fault of theirs, having to behave as inferior beings whole lives..

But, I still think atleast caste system will reduce to a great extent after our generation.. Most people this generation are already flexible in that aspect ..

You can only attempt to change one person in this entire world and that is yourself. All the attempts to change the other people are futile and a waste of time. Every person needs to work on themselves rather than trying to change others.

See the thing is, everybody should call out the ill practices of Hinduism, but at the same time if the person keeps mum when it comes to the other religions, they will be accused of being Hinduphobic, simple math. Like every concept, Hinduphobia is misused by people to tackle any argument, but that doesn't change the fact that some people have misunderstood secularism and are afraid to call out other religions because they don't want to appear as Islamophobic or any other term according to the religion.

If you(not you) are going to give them benefit of doubt, give everyone the same, or don't act all progressive when it comes to Hinduism and than turn blind eye to Islam or any other religion.

Karwa chaut ho ya Rakshabandhan ya phir Kanyadaan, all are outdated concepts, and if somebody doesn't want to celebrate them, I say dont force them. But if someone is doing them, don't demonise them either, because for them it is a normal thing, unless this leads to some personal harm to someone, I don't see why we are having debates.

What if the other person doesnt know enough about the other religion to make a judgement call on it?

This is a ridiculous expectation TBH

Just because you stand up for one cause, you dont need to stand up for every related or similar cause. I can support saving the rhinos without saying save the tigers also and save every animal

I can protest triple talaq without having to take a stand on dowry.

There will always be some mischievous entities who will use tragic practices like the above to gain brownie points, but from what I have noticed, they themselves are a loud minority on either side - be it left leaning or right leaning. Fringe group leaders. If you are going to get upset over fringe elements, then you are signing on for a lifetime for grief because this is never ending.

Bas ab yehi bol de...

Classic - agar Hinduism ke kuch points ko critique kar rahe ho, toh musalman hi hogay 💔

Waise diwali manane se pollution toh phailta hai. I havet burst crackers since I was 10-11 years old, and we made say no to crackers posters in class. It made sense to me

Holi mat manao because of paani - yeh pehli baar suna hai. Dont put holi colors on pets suna hua hai and is more common I think

Rakshabandhan mat manao kabhi nahi suna

Karvachauth does have patriarchal roots, and so does Kanyadaan

And who said parents ka khayal mat rakho? I think people are saying both couples need to be equally responsible for their parents. Kuch galt boleya?

What judgement do you need to not question triple talaq?

Havent seen any celebrity supporting triple talaq. If that happens, then its a different story

Because if the said person proclaims to be a feminist they should question every evil in the society, unless obviously if they don't consider Muslim women a part of the society.

I know.

Just like dowry is banned.

But both happen.
