Unpopular opinion but this drama and it's logics failed to entice me. Khala was not doing right by pressurizing Aswad into marrying Mehreen. Aswad didn't do right by letting Mehreen decide. Mehreen was wrong for saying yes. Mashal's family is actually making sense. Aswad on one hand says he was never flirting with her, on the other, he says I liked you and wanted to marry you.

Mehreen now is saying no for the marriage, and Aswad isn't backing off. Mehreen blamed Mashal that she wanted everything Mehreen has, but then, isn't it Mehreen who snatched Aswad from Mashal? And now, Marshal would die. Why? Atleast I can't understand that.

I've read the novel and I must say things were bit more logical there. I just can't understand what is happening in the drama.

I agree with you. I think the show writers became too preoccupied with trying to portray the three characters as “grey” that it sort of turned into a mess. The characters just keep flip flopping. Sometimes Mehreen wants to marry Aswad, sometimes she doesn’t. Sometimes she loves Aswad and sometimes she doesn’t. Sometimes Aswad loves Mashal and wants to marry her, and sometimes they’re “just cousins and friends”.

Khala keeps saying that she never pressured Aswad into the marriage, but she did! She claims to know her son very well, and can clearly see that Aswad despises Mehreen but she still ignores that. She’s my favourite character on the show, but she herself is very selfish. She wants Mehreen as her bahu because she already has a close pre-existing relationship with her, and also knows that Mehreen wouldn’t be the type of person to distance her from her son.

I wish they would release at least 2 episodes per week. The show is moving at a snail’s pace and my patience and interest is running out. I feel that the show will eventually become unbearable to watch when they get married and Aswad starts his “cruel hero” antics.

I know people are pissed that saliha is forcing Aswad... But I can totally get her..

She has lived her life in kuwait n has seen the world... She knows how mashal is I feel.. She has been close to her brothers family n knows mashal n aswad won't work... Mashal has kept pretence but saliha can look through it coz she trusts mehreen n her words of the kind of treatment she is given at the house???

I know aswad should be given choice but see how easily he gives on to his mom... His mom knows his son will accept his choice n aswad wants to keep his mom happy... The problem I have is aswad wants to accept mehreen for his mom then why sulk around... Ok he thinks mehreen isn't a good girl but why show attitude to his mother n even his aunt?? Like subtle attitude? If u want to tell ur mom she is forcing you then damn be more vocal or just accept it? Middle pung pong..

Mashal n aswad... I feel it's like mujhse dosti karogi... Mashal had means to make international calls so she remained in touch... Aswad wanted company so he kept calling... He only realized he wanted to marry when he was back??? But he brought a ring along??? Did he buy it in Pakistan?? I think mostly mashal n aswad spoke about mehreen so it can't be called flirting

Boggled by total inconsistencies in this episode, and yet I cant help but applaud absolute brilliance in terms of performances!

On the screenplay - ok first off Salya khala absolutely did EB Aswad into this marriage. If she thinks that because Aswad left the decision on Mehreen and he was fine with going ahead with the marriage then obviously she is purposely putting aside Aswad's complete reluctance to marry Mehreen, which he was quite clear on. What would have been better is that she should have told Aswad about Mehreen's achievements - and how she is the one who is a poetess, great at studies and at everything in general. She never cleared that with Aswad??!! The conversations between Mother and son regarding Mehreen and Mashal are so vague..in general..IDK why there is no clarity there?

Mashal - Yes Aswad - you did lead her ON. You brought a ring for her from USA. How can this be passed off as friendship? They used to gossip day in and day out..Mashal used to haq jataao even in long distance calls and not as a "friend". It may not have been an "affair" in the sense of the term, but it was definitely also not a platonic friendship.

I do think Mashal's family was right to confront Salya khala and Aswad both about it. Even though they are all awful people, they are not wrong to question these two on this count.

Mehreen - Ok why did she come to talk to Aswad? She should have refused to marry Aswad in the first place and not succumb to it. I dont blame Aswad for getting mad at her.

BUT that confrontation between Mehreen and Mashal was absolutely bomb - in that aspect Mehreen was right - that Mashal just wants what Mehreen wants. There is no love or attachment on a standalone basis, from Mashal's side. Maybe Mehreen said yes to marrying Aswad, because she wants to somehow protect him from Mashal's madness?? This is so very very twisted - but sigh! Anyway, in either case Mehreen herself decided to live a life of misery and torture - so she cant really blame others for what happens from here on.

All in all Idk why Aswad couldnt tell Salya baaji to find another girl altogether besides Mehreen and Mashal?? and even though I really like Salya baaji - I am somewhat disappointed in her for EBing both Aswad and Mehreen into this marriage!

++++++++++++++++++++++++

the next episode promo - OMG! even though we all knew where its going - but man I got goosebumps! I thought Mashal will kill herself on the night of the wedding, but its already here!!

++++++++++++++++++++++++

I feel this isnt just the story of 3 children who were affected by the circumstances and familial equations around them- Aswad-Mehreen-Mashal, but also of Shabbo, since she was also a child when she came into this household - Shabbo even though a comic relief sofar, holds a lot more secrets and knows the dynamics between all and she has been gaslighting things between Mehreen and Mashal for her own entertainment as well.

+++++++++++++++++++++

I cannot seem to get enough of the chemistry between Mahira and Kubra actually - they both together set the screen on fire literally - Like you can feel the tension between Mehreen and Mashal everytime they appear on screen together.

Parents emotionally blackmailing and forcing their children to marry is easily the most common twist in all dramas.

All characters in this show are gray. It started with saliyah khala n her bias to mehreen . These things create complexes which are not visible at that time but seeds were sown . When both are her niece , why would she treat them differently ? Same with Nani.

I think Mehreen is damaged , to start a new life with safaan. The scars run deep. She carries a lot of past baggage..she said yes to him impulsively but she knew she would not be able to keep him happy ..like she wrote in her diary that mashal won't let her live , nor die. Although she chose destruction , it was her destiny.. this way or that way....it will be karma striking bk for all the characters I suppose.

On the surface , this story looks simple but it deals with the emotional issues effectively and realistically.

Shabbo I think uses mashals enimity to get away from work... Like the moment she brings information she is freed of work???

The most powerful scene was mehreen telling mashal that she doesn't love Aswad. She wants him only bec mehreen wants him, and even if mehreen gives up aswad, she would want saffan😲 Mashals whole existence is about not letting mehreen have any peace or happiness in life. Her character is despicable but the last 10 mins of the show where she gets flashbacks about everyone praising mehreen , and her own mother asking her to be like mehreen were fabulous. She doesn't show it but mashal had serious pathological issues ..probably her parents or she herself could never identify it..her mother is to be blamed for it..she passed her inferiority complex to mashal..a girl who was good in her own right never got the appreciation she deserved...like ..if mehreen was out of the picture , mashal is smart , beautiful, rich n has everything one could wish for..but...she was always seen in comparison to mehreen. Very sad .

She went to such great lengths to ruin mehreen and ultimately she died to ruin her completely..what level of jealousy and insecurity !

But what's with aswad ? They have written him.so badly. Here he is telling mashal that they were never romancing . So if he doesn't love her enuf to take a stand for their marriage , why would he marry and torture mehreen to take revenge of mashals death ? (I am guessing this is the story ..from the ost ) . Aisa toh pagal premi karte hain.

Ikr! He says something about mehreen , she asks why n he just shut up or changes the topic. They never talk properly. If saliya knows what mehreen went through, why didn't she tell aswad ? If aswad believes mashal why not discuss it with his mom? Deliberate flaw in the writing .

Don't tell Mr saliya will die soon after coz then aswad won't get to torture mehreen 🤢in the promos aswad was sounding like a.psycho😆
