Episode 33
I do not know where to start, I think this was one of those episodes where I was left with a bittersweet feeling, I loved it and it equally saddened me, I think praising the actors would not be enough, they are just so brilliant in their craft that they rose above the script, If Feroze and Iqra would not be the leads, this show would not me a mega hit, I am completely sure and I stand by my words.
Farhad-Romana
Romana is my queen, I absolutely love the fact that she herself called Farhad to be her kindred spirit, it is more like there are some bonds which is above love, friendship, you just connect with each other, and Farhad is the peace which Romana seeks for in her broken state. The Dev-Chandra dynamics here being completely platonic is one of the best things of this show, where writer proves that a man and a woman does not need to be lovers, but still can love each other for their integrity and empathy.
I really enjoyed how Chanda jee tells Romana that only Sikka can heal you, but Romana denies, it is Farhad who can heal me and she says that again that his eyes, his suffering, everything is just so haunting that I cannot stay away from his vicinity. Chanda jee being baffled asks her a very genuine question that whether you love him? It is a no, yes exactly, love is not an emotion that can happen with someone because you find him flawless, love can happen with an unreasonably different human too, just how Romana loved a spineless Sikandar, just how Farhad loved a spineless Mahi, you cannot choose to love someone, it happens.
For the first time while Romana was crying in front of Farhad, he looked stable, he did not look devastated, infact he felt bad for her, thus asking her to go inside and cry, this depicted slowly Farhad started to gather himself and found some peace here, all thanks to the sense of responsibility and the reunion with his family, he looked so much better, even though he still calls his life a curse, even though he still is broken, but he had accepted the truth and rose over it, and I loved it. Sadly, this did not last long, as the conversation with Mahi that followed up broke him again and it was hurtful.
A very delightful moment was when Chanda jee adored Farhad and wanted to apologize I believe, she wanted to approach him and talk but could not, her embarrassment showed on her face, this was the man whom she humiliated mercilessly, and today she was seeing how kind and how empathetic he was towards them and their state of being bazaru, thanks to the writer here, if you are making you central lead to be the center of all love, then he indeed needed these qualities.
Farhad-Mahi
So Mahi wants to send him back, Sahiba being the evergreen voice of fans actually called her selfish? WOW i did not see this coming though, it only means Mahi's character was always supposed to be like this, Sahiba knows that she is in grief too, but well truth is truth, if you wnat to send him back just because you want some peace, then of course it is selfish Mahi, your love should be above this
The moment Mahi enters the shrine, Farhad feels her presence and he looks back, sees her and then turns his sight away, that was love in its purest form, I am just so so awed by Farhad in this episode, that I can write pages on him, he just made me so proud, like whoever called his love an obsession, whoever called him selfish or childish, whoever thought he enjoyed making Mahi miserable, this episode shall clear every thing. His love is greater than her being physically present with him, he loves the complete idea of Mahi just being Mahi, the woman he will always value more than anything, and for whom he will never hesitate to ruin anything.
And with that for the first time he actually pleaded that 'I do not want anything from you, just let me live here please' 😭. That moment I could feel for him, he came to Multan to hide from everyone and he did, to find a solution to his misery, he did, thus he just wanted to continue with this life, because going back will only take him back to the reality that what his life could have been had he not been infected with the idea of love. I think till 32nd episode, I have always said that I want Farhad to go back to Lahore and start a fresh life, but after seeing him in this episode, I think I will say that he should be where his peace of mind is, and it is in Multan, he can visit his family once a while, but the way for the first time he sounded so helpless that he wants to stay here, it makes me believe that he has all the right to choose for himself, every individual deserves that right, he cannot do something to make others happy if he himself is not at peace, so he should stay where he finds peace.
Now, the much confession, Mahi promising him about afterlife and crying, him crying in despair, the bulle shah poetry in his voice and the entire scenario had me 😭. I really do not know what to write, Farhad knew it, I knew it, Mahi always loved him and hence it is proven that the class difference cannot allow them to be together. The highlight still was not Mahi's confession, but the fact that Farhad showed how selfless and unconditional his love was. She actually emotionally blackmailed him saying that I would die of guilt if you do not go back, and him being him, him being the same old Farhad who can never deny her, accepted her request, he would die but never put her at guilt, that thought would ruin him forever, and just how anyone with blind love would do, he did the same thing too, he promised her that he will go back once his duties are over, and he meant it, the way she asked that 'waada'? and he responded, he will go back and it is for sure. Farhad just deserve the whole world for this instance itself, take a bow my man, since episode 7 I knew that he cannot be someone who could not take a no, he indeed is someone who will take all the humiliations and still sacrifice his everything for that someone he claims to love, that is Farhad for you.
Romana-Mahi
Well, it was a great scene TBH. She rightfully taunts Mahi for what she went through and at the same time she acknowledges the sacrifices Mahi made. Listening to that Farhad slowly starts to lose himself, the fact that he was witnessing Mahi's confession and then her decision to sacrifice her love on the same day left him into a pool of unbearable pain, and the way he died every minute there till Mahi was standing, Feroze did like an iconic performance here. Later on, he zones out and then goes all malang and sufi, how absolutely freaking brilliant that scene was, I cannot even help but watch it again and again, Feroze please take a bow 👏👏, there has been many instances when he stunned me with his performances, be it Mir Hadi's breakdown after hallucinating Sarim's blood, or be it Adeel's haunting expressions on hallucinating Rana after she leave shim, but this Feroze has been the best, Farhad would not be Farhad if Feroze would not play him, just all the praises in his kitty.
Nazim Shah- and the truth
Well, did not expect anything better than this jaahil family, slapping Sahiba, calling Mahi ganda khoon, and saying Farhad is namaak haraam, all in one was pure epic show of how trash and hypocrite this jagirdari is
Farhad was the person who saved this jaahil from dying by putting his own life at risk, wow namaak haraam is the word? 🤢. And for the F sake, stop talking like Farhad is some identity less person, he is not, his father is a reputed man in Lahore, he is not a street dweller ke aise baat karega NS, and he has more respect for women than NS can ever have.🤢
Mahi's father is the worst, not stopping his son from slapping his wife and his sister but blaming their mother for not raising a good daughter, they all deserve to to rot in hell, and Mahi should go to Farhad, they do not deserve her sacrifice.
Sikka, the less I say is better, he wants Romana's permission to marry Mahi? Is it a joke? 🤣
Also, finally our Fakira bibi saw her deewana ziddi chora Farhad, that was such a moment I swear, Fakira always is awed with him, and she was indeed happy and emotional to see him alive, thank you writer to insert this scene amidst all the drama.
Overall, a brilliant episode, kudos to everyone, especially the bg score in Farhad's malang shot, it was all adrenaline, and all the actors, Feroze, Iqra, Sohail sameer, Sunita, Tooba, everyone ❤️
