For the record, I personally don't believe in changing surnames after marriage. It never made sense to me. I understand that others do it for tradition but if women need to feel independent why take their husband's name in this day and age?

And about changing surname in tamil nadu it is like changing initial alone were Father initial is changed with husband initial as we don't follow surname now a days I see many girls just add thier husband name but keeping the initials intact which actually good according to me
