Trend karne se kuchh nahi hota haii we all know now. But it does tell what the logical Fans want to say by making huge impact. I don't think I found any of the recent trends done for any shows were in vain - it amplified how unhappy they were with the storylines clearly in the respective CVs' face.

Though since I ain't on BlueChidiya, I have never been a part of these but I totally can see it atleast making a statement by a large margin.
