If Sohail had a clean image, Maha was also not a woman to throw herself over other men, especially one she had grown up calling Bhai.
I understand he was at a very difficult place. But writers did bring Salar and compared how Rayed could have at least tried to find the truth. Not immediately but after a few days. A girl whom he had loved, shouldn't he have had at least this much faith on her. He should've at least gone to Asma and asked, 'Asma, the Maha we knew she couldn't do anything like this. What do you think could be her motivation? You've known her for an entire life, do you think she's capable of such greed?' He did nothing of this sort.
I have no problem with Rayed marrying Sana. Sana is a beautiful person. But if he's going to treat her as a pawn in this ego battle with Hajra, then he's committing another mistake. He's ruining another life.
Salar would have been a good match for Maha, unfortunately, life has embittered her soul and she's so jaded that she's having hard time believe his goodness and love.
