Meaning they meant to show her as something else entirely but audience fell in love with her character either way? It would explain why certain cast members and media people keep on calling Sai badtameez over and over again cuz that is what they intended to show. But to their surprise audience actually fell in love with a girl who gives it back to elders with interest no matter their age.
Reminds me of this clip I came across recently on IG where Sai comes back from college and does full on act of media expose on Chavan family and their reaction to her. Gosh I miss that fearless and blunt Sai Joshi

Exactly !! They did not expect that Sai wont click much.. And like one of the cast members said, one of the greatest reason for the show to work is LUCK!!!
None talk great about Sai the character or for that matter Ayesha the actor.. Coming to that no mention of Ayesha's acting? Nothing , nothing at all? Great👏👏

See this guys!! And we are to believe sab kuch acha hai on the sets!! Unfortunately Sai clicked and they are so so stuck to have her in precaps where tide campaign is going on for Didi.🤣
Yes it is fact. They may not expected that sai will become huge factor for the show success. But it happened. Give credit to the actor too who plays sai character beautifully & made people fell in love with that character. Due credit to original writers too😪.
