He cared for her way too much (the fainting and the chicken pox care - he pressed her legs for god's sake). Isliye I felt that good they didn't drag this hate track. I fact the MU also felt too contrived coz he was the Don and it was funny he didnt check properly but went on to assume the worst of her (he had known her quite well by then). I always felt that deep down he knew she's innocent but his conflicting and strong feelings made him believe it as a counter.
As far as the intense story goes, I feel they did have quite an intense story. Making him a Don and her a bechari widow (or not) may not have been digestible. I couldn't take his extreme bouts of anger and other things like truck accident he did to her.. the acceptance for Raghav would have been difficult and so would his redemption. I'm glad they toned it down a few notches.

I'm like 50/50 about that - bc I think all of the silly stuff was introduced to speed up the track and get rid of the "hate" part of their marriage quickly bc of their covid location change (& maybe even Shivi being sick). I think the hate track should've continued before all that happened. Not for too long, but maybe just another week or so.
Bc I just watched a lot of the episodes in succession - I did notice that their relationship during their marriage did change quickly. But I also get that they've also kind of always been like that - quick to get angry, quick to MU each other, quick to move past it and be "friends", quick to back to square one.
The initial promos of the marriage track had Pallavi being set out for revenge (or at the least to put Raghav in his place) - that idea just fizzled out really quickly IMO. She had one scene at the reception, and then that was it. And I know Pallavi isn't like that (vengeful but she does put people in their places - its what I love most about her) - but she had lost so much by marrying him, and marriage was so important to her. So sacred to her. This is a young widow who thought she'd never marry again or be able to find a life partner. In that specific part of their story, he had just snatched that from her. Sometimes I wish they had shown her more stern with Raghav. Again, just for a small amount of time LOL. He could've still stopped her at the train station, they could've still had her give him a month redemption chance, had the silly fights, etc. But I wish they fulfilled more of what the promo teased.
@intensity: I think for an ITV show, I agree with what you said. I also had a hard time digesting what he did to her in the first set (10?15?) episodes. I sat there thinking "there is no WAY she's going to fall for him like this, she's TOO good for him". I think what people were wishing for (I'm just speculating at this point) was just more push-pull between them. It didn't have to be to that extreme as early episodes - bc by then even in their original trajectory, CVs did tone him down in their own way. If this show was on Netflix, I would've wanted a bit more intensity. But that's maybe not even a storyline fault, it's more of a direction fault.
Either way, I'm still happy with the show as it is. I'll def add this to my rewatch list for years to come lol.
