His large fanbase that existed while joining II also set him apart from others. If I hear Adi correctly in finale, PD is the only contestant in history of II to have a large fanbase before joining II. So, he already had loyal voters without even performing in single episode in II. He was actually a confirmed winner at the time of joining the show irrespective of his performance in II. Since he is a genuine talent in music, he continues to grow his fanbase in mass people as well as in class people.

PD needs to fix his goal now. He needs to think whether he really wants to be a music director or it is just an emotional outcome due to the attachment with Ashish as his room mate during II. As I mentioned previously, music directors generally do not invite another music director to sing their songs. Truly speaking music directors are in a competition in the market. His declaration to work as music director duo with Ashish has already limited his scope to work with other music directors as a singer. I personally don't want to see PD singing for his own compositions only. He should focus on singing at this moment.

I beg to differ on a few points.

I don’t think Adi said PD had a large fan base before he entered the II. He stated that PD is the first one to reach the 1M mark before the finale. Aru also achieved this feat a few days later but still before the finale.
Her followed on IG is not a whole lot less than PD and her IG account was started after the show began and so she gained more followers during II. A lot of them were PD fans too and followed due to Arudeep craze. Goes both ways - Aru fans following PD.

PDs popularity came with II. He was not that well known before that. When he won Voice of India a few years ago, SNS wasn’t as widespread. Uttarakhand did support him very strongly. Plus he had something in him that appealed to the masses. Even most celebrities that came praised him and also stated how their mom or some family member supports him. Danish had the personality, looks but still could not gain the appeal that PD had.

If you listen to PD’s IV you can see how he is quite sensible, mature and grounded. I think one of the interviewers told him he should become a motivational speaker! 😃

I think saying he was a confirmed winner before the show started is highly unfair and is taking away all the hard work he has put in over the course of the show. If u notice, all the participants thought very highly of him. I think Neeraj ji rightfully said once that he has the persona that appeals or something like that.

Vishal Dadlani is a well known music director and he sings for other music directors. He is good at both!

Let’s just be happy with the outcome. I know that Arunita was also a strong contender and possibly the only one that gave PD the competition for that trophy. She seems to be happy with the outcome which frankly was not unexpected based on his popularity.

let’s hope all the contestants get good work and are able to sustain.
