I can’t say about the unity really. I would credit her friends mainly for this- they started a WhatsApp campaign and asked everybody to join. Multiple reminder. Koi kaise mana krta? Conscience toh hoti hai sabke pass! Or maybe they were embarrassed to go against a good cause?

Later though I have seen some of my batchmates cribbing about it or even indulging in victim blaming. Always used to drive me mad. I was very pro-her and would stand up to anyone koi mere saamne bolta tha toh.
