Was her mother' side rich too? I remember reading about her mother Ruksana Sultana, who was a rich socialite who had her own diamond jewellery business, known for her fashion and expensive designer bags and sunglasses, perfumes and jewellery. She started her business after her divorce from Amrita's father. She was also very close to Sanjay Gandhi and Congress.

Yeah, her grandfather was a judge and aunt was Begum Para who married Dilip Kumar's brother. So Ayub Khan, their son, is Amrita's Uncle even though he is younger than Amrita.
