But, I still think its disrespectful to India it... the country from which they have made all their money from., because how its still manifests in our society today - the situation between Hindu- Muslims gets tense even today because of our historical past, there is no denying it. The horrors of Partition.. Why Indians and Pakistanis are still enemies where we have a shared history and culture.

While Ashoka may have massacred in the name of war (all emperors do kill, right? Unless they were Prince Sidhaarta)- how is it effecting us today? He was still an Indian and not a foreign invader. He spread Buddhism throughout South Asia, and left edicts that are precious to us..

He is stil Asoka the Great. Historians don't term "great" without any reason. Asoka Chakra is our emblem for a reason, it represents Dharma.

The examples quoted have different connotations that are relevant today.

i am sure the country as a whole better things to worry about then what two bw actors name their kid and i dont think saifeena care about what others think either so

unhe pasand aya toh rakh diya khatam karo aage bhado

had a road or any public place been named after aurangazeb/babur/taimur i would understood the outrage but no third person has a say what parents name their kid

even akbar is called great so? there are many skeletons in his closet too just like there are in ashoka

@bold thats true.

Yes, we do have better things to worry about, but that still doesn't mean they aren't being disrespectful and insensitive.

the choice of name is insensitive to sentiment of people especially hindus mughals were invaders, who came to loot India, didn't have religious tolerance and killed Hindus, demolished their places of worship, killed men and children because they were kafirs and did much worse to women, jahangir was no saint, he killed guru arjun dev by setting him on fire. So yes people can outrage if they don't like, don't expect a famous personality to name their child hitler and face no outrage from Jews or in general

people throw words like Islamophobia randomly at slightest of inconvenience they face yet when Hindus do with much bigger cause they are called names and intolerant which is the issue and.

coming to ashoka, he was king in conquest of expanding his kingdom and killed people without a religious bias, had mughals did same no one would have questioned them either because that was the world order than, it's the religious bias which is key difference

Saif should’ve named his child Benjamin Nethanyahu! How stylist and 2021 it would’ve sounded.

Try naming your kid Israel in Palestine and see what happens to you. 😆
